xadamhudsonx
That kind of sucks though. Its like "let me re-release a high demand album that I fit on one disc and then tack on a bunch of extra shit that makes it way more expensive and overcharge you for the whole thing. You only wanted the first disc but selling you a whole pricey package with unwarranted extras is better for me."That's just the way I feel about it. I'm sure most will disagree. I want that first disc but to get it, I have to pay for a bunch of other shit I don't want. Gouge. But that's just it, it's a re-release. This has already been pressed and if you just want the album with no extras, that's been available for years now. It might have been more than you were willing to pay, but it was out there. A re-release of an album like this should be special and chock full of extras. To be honest, I wish they'd do more releases like this one and Pinkerton. lifebystereo
Wow, BA is only on the first LP? I thought it was at least a double LP of BA, and then just the third LP of b-sides.

scottheisel
Warner is not responsible for RSD, they just embraced it quicker than other major labels. And BA was released on DreamWorks, which is now part of Universal. WB had nothing to do with any stage of this album's release or reissue. Warner Bros. owns ORG. Shit, right you are! Just read the "about us" section on their website. I was mistaken. It still doesn't explain why Universal would license this to another label, though. idreamofpunk
I love my OG copy./justsayin I have one, too. But man, I'm just glad to have a copy of this reissue. It's a nice package.
ifworkpermits
I love my OG copy./justsayin Love mine too! Kind of sad this wasn't just a repress on 2xlp high quality, but it is good to know that at least this was recreated using newly mastered tracks... and it will be nice to hear those demos on wax! It still doesn't explain why Universal would license this to another label, though. I think it's because ORG is just a reissue label. Those Sonic Youth, Beck, Teenage Fanclub, and Nirvana albums are all owned by Geffen (who I think is owned by Universal?), too.

mattisr1984
maybe its just me but i really dont like when demos / b-sides get attached to a single album and its still sold as 'the album'. they did 2000 3xlps and charged 45 bucks for it. they could have also done 6000 single LPs of just the album (probably at a lower cost to them) and charged $15 for it. in short - glad i have an OG copy. daniel
I was also really surprised to hear that the album is only on one LP. I don't have an OG copy though I'm glad I ordered.
mattisr1984
its kind of like saying "ok, fine - here's a repressing of the album but you can only have it if youre willing to spend an additional $30 on demos and b-sides."

thewmatic
my copy of Bleed American on RSD was 34.99 from my local store. That means that they bought it and priced it a couple dollars for overhead. If you bought it 45.99 anywhere they turned a pretty decent profit on you. Ebay seems ready to overpay for them though.
thewmatic
And i'm pretty happy with having a complete set of songs to go along with the album. Buying an OG copy now would run me more than that for less product.
xxmartinxx
Remember when everyone was pissed that they had to pay $100 for it on eBay? This week, everyone's mad they have to pay $45. Times do change.

And $45 flat, no less. No sales tax, free shipping... really no room to complain, I'd say.

000000
i think if this was one of my favorite bands id be more willing to spend the 45 on it. same with the Weezer release. i think its a cool idea, and if i was a huge fan of said band, i don't think i'd have a problem spending so much on it. that being said, if this ever makes it down to the $30 range, i'd prbly go for it.
