turnstiles
Ugh, wasted so many likes in this thread. I would love this on green vinyl. It'll be expensive for sure though.
BuzzersonKillwell
The ideal variant is probably a chrome dipped record. It'll be really pretty, but sound like shit, which I imagine is the audio equalivant of the movie.
manueledge
Great fucking book! Don't know about the movie though... Is it even out yet?
museummouth
The movie is going to suck bad. kriss

noalarmplanet
am i the only one who has a problem with a period piece having modern music for a soundtrack? Probably not, but the more i've dived deep into film history the more I like things like this. Gatsby is one of my top ten books, I really hope its good, Leo is great choice for gatsby. Also seeing the art deco makes me want a bioshock movie bad. johnpdillard
mrrom92
am i the only one who has a problem with a period piece having modern music for a soundtrack? Nope. The fuck was up with that turtles cover in the trailer? One of the most prime, and probably last opportunities to keep the artists that were popular 80-90 years ago in the public's eyes and ears, and they done missed it. Thanks to this, much of our musical history will quickly be entirely forgotten sooner than it could have, and should have. Fuck.
SweetJerryWine
I will still probably pick this up. I loved what Tarantino did with the Django soundtrack. But I do wish there was some spasm band thrown in here.
dreamover
am i the only one who has a problem with a period piece having modern music for a soundtrack? Are you not familiar with Baz Luhrmann's work? littlebistro
oxxo
Drawing on his unique and unrivalled position in popular culture, JAY Z... LOL...Puh-leeze. Shameless ass kissing by TMR.
paranoidantroyd
LOL...Puh-leeze. Shameless ass kissing by TMR. Might be a little ass kissing but you can't deny the fact that Jay-Z has been crushing it for 15+ years.
Ent
Might get this...not sure yet though. Need to hear the album first and see how much it'll be!
atticus
Hmm I kind of wish they had modern artists do takes on period jazz/big band numbers for this. Would have been really cool. mrrom92
openupyourskull
The tracklisting seems pretty underwhelming but I'm such a sucker for Gatsby so I might just pick this up anyway.
avery
am i the only one who has a problem with a period piece having modern music for a soundtrack? not me. i see it as an interesting interpretation. fergie and will.i.am on the soundtrack are total boner kills though. i'm sure it'll work. i think the soundtrack for luhrman's romeo + juliet worked and that was modern music in a shakespearean story. this is one of my favorite books so i'm anxious to see it but not really to own this unless i like the majority of what i end up hearing during the movie. KnockKnock
Songs aren't bad. Remakes of classic 1920s songs would have been nice, though.
russtcb
I'm on the fence about this. I think I'll be sampling the whole record before I decide to grab the vinyl.
