cwhitmuzik
He said he could be wrong. Modest Mouse is more popular though so I don't get how he's blatently wrong. If there was such a huge market they'd keep nin albums in print. Modest Mouse isn't more popular than NIN.
JoToRoBo
Modest Mouse isn't more popular than NIN. Until someone breaks out some facts and figures, this is all opinions. Unless we ride on Facebook likes... Which is NIN by almost 2 million :-)
michaelmanfredi
I'm not claiming nine inch nails is more popular than modest mouse but I think that they'd sell more copies on vinyl. Just being speculative.
Cloudsbelow
secondary market prices must come into the equation.. lonesome crowded > with teeth
Shelby
Modest Mouse isn't more popular than NIN. You underestimate Float On. Only numbers I've seen are on last.fm and MM has more listeners

Only numbers I've seen are on last.fm and MM has more listeners Would you call those people actual fans of the band though? People who would buy tickets to see them? NIN is either headlining over or coheadlining with Soundgarden. Could Modest Mouse do that? I don't think so.

This isn't that serious, dude tore the other guy a new one but there isn't a concrete answer. I'll reiterate that if NIN really had a big vinyl following their albums would still be in print. Soundgarden suck it would be a crime if they headline over anyone lol

Bladewillisisdead
NIN is more popular. I hear Closer at LEAST once a day while out in the world. I'll hear MM maybe once a month or so. Modest Mouse are big but NIN are huge.

TheGhostOfRandySavage
I dig both about the same amount. I own more Modest Mouse albums though for sure.
drownmeinestrogen
NIN is considerably bigger than MM. Like, when MM came around Charlotte they played a 2,000 capacity venue while NIN played one almost exactly 10 times that, albeit with Soundgarden. As far as why most NIN albums haven't been re-pressed, I couldn't tell you. Maybe Interscope doesn't have interest in it, I dunno. I think they could make bank on them. Requiescat
You guys talking about NIN and Modest Mouse reminded me of the most perfectly summed up and to-the-point album review I've ever read and it's about NIN's With Teeth: http://www.tinymixtapes.com/music-review/nine-inch-nails-teeth F'ing priceless. Regardless, I'll take LCW repress over any NIN album including The Fragile which I would love to see because it's insane what copies go for right now. thesewoodenideas

drownmeinestrogen
I'm a fan of With Teeth. Don't really care to state my preference on one band or the other, they're both two of my favorites.
feralpanda
I keep seeing this thread jump back up to the top and hoping that it's some substantiated info about a repress but really it's just a slap fight about whether Modest Mouse is more popular than Nine Inch Nails
THE_James_Champ
I haven't really given NIN a second thought since Trent covered that Johnny Cash song. natenomm and AlexH.
