Spiderland77
Post, Vespertine, Homogenic...sold out....fuck!
maximuss
So the number of 5000 is a total of all these albums, not 5000 each
maximuss
That means these are the smallest pressings of all these albums
onwardempire
Gahhhh why did I rein myself in, should've just dropped the cash.
onwardempire
Woahhhh, you're right! Gonna grab post and debut now. EDIT: Thanks for the heads up Slops. just managed to grab them both!
timsimmons
So it looks like it may be 5000 of each. Post and Debut have 450+ copies available. Looks like they just add 500 more when they sell out.
chimpkin
I just ordered Debut, Post, Vespertine, Homogenic and Volta. I wanted them all but couldn't swing it. It was about $150 shipped for those 5. If these pop up on amazon in a week for $20 each I'm gonna be pissed, lol.
kannibal
You really think it's going to sound that bad... You may be right. Maybe I'll hold off on selling the DMM and see how this pressing of Vespertine sounds first. I really don't know how it's going to sound. brillwill
ordered all 7 for a little over 200 USD. seeing as how I paid 80 bucks for an OG vespertine a couple of months back, this is a no brainer. thanks for the heads up
dawhizz
So torn on this. Medulla is my favorite, but I already have that. Next is probably Post, and if I order that I might as well get Debut (neither of which I own). And Homogenic while I'm at it (I just have the ubiquitous "test press"). Ugh. niblips

tetsuodaironman
You're going to sell the 200gm DMM Vespertine so you can buy an inferior version? Makes sense on this forum. I have the DMM Debut and Medulla, no way I'd sell them for colored copies. They sound so fucking good.
niblips
i couldn't resist any longer..... i had to buy some. The wife will approve, so that made the decision easier.
213041284s
Just grabbed Post for now... holding out hope that they'll pop up on Amazon or some other US retailers eventually
andrewlucas
I bought the 200 gram greatest hits off ebay a while ago and I think someone swapped the 200 gram for standard weight. I didn't notice at the time but now it seems fishy. They aren't any heavier than any of the 180 gram records I own.

I didn't notice at the time but now it seems fishy. They aren't any heavier than any of the 180 gram records I own. 200g records are strange as I have a few that seem to be all over the map on thickness. Personally I don't think 200 is better 180, but my DMM Vespertine is so heavy and the packaging is very nice and the sound. I know Vespertine was recorded on a computer, but the pressing really sounds great. If someone would rather have colored vinyl, that's cool. But I would at least compare the two first. I checked out an OP Vespertine my local had for sale, and both the packaging and the vinyl weight, didn't compare to the 200g DMM.
Rip
I need all of these. Don't have the money for any though .
The Doctor
Is there any reason to buy the way more expensive tracked US shipping? Anybody have any bad experiences with One Little Indian, or do you think i'll be ok with the cheaper US shipping?
Barberbro
I have a buddy in Germany who comes to Canada every spring. I shipped them to him. I ended up buying all 7 and it cost me about $33 CDN/record. Not too bad...
andrewlucas
I had the 200 gram DMM Volta too so I was expecting greatest hits to be the same weight. Not even close. I was probably bamboozled. They probably sold me the regular version and put it in the DMM packaging and held onto the 200g for themselves! Whatever. It sounds great and that's all that matters in the end. kannibal
Does the packaging say 200 gram? Now that I think about it, I think I remember reading that GH was only 180 and people were scratching their heads as to why.
shifres
Wish I could buy them all but eventually I just bought Debut, Post, Homogenic, Vespertine, Medulla & Volta that was a painful move to do but I know that if I'll miss that, I'd want to kick myself forever. andrewlucas
Guess I was wrong. I weighed my records and they are exactly 200 grams each. They didn't feel that heavy to me when I compared them to a regular pressing of a random record. Oh well. Hopefully these new pressings are good quality.
