Bladewillisisdead
I occasionally will check it for any music news I might have missed, and...however bad you think it's gotten, you're probably right. It was always pretty bad, but the message board was awesome for getting music back in the days of YSI. It's definitely where I got shit like CoC from
thebilljim
I also got hip to Breather Resist's "Charmer" through Lambgoat, so it's definitely a case where I still go back to the site almost out of nostalgia slash the mistaken assumption that I'll still discover a band I'm gonna grow to love. kjkenney
Anyone ever get down on Sailboats? Dudes went on to form Loma Prieta but this is still one of my favorite songs of the genre http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8FP6fBHJvSA plasma36

thebilljim
Also, here's this - probably the best quality video of CoC playing live that I've ever been able to find on Youtube. And of course, it starts with the best song they ever wrote.PT. 1 PT. 2 PT.
bridgesii
I have an original pressing I grabbed for around $30 shipped within the last year Great record! Have owned and sold the original a couple times. maybe you could help clear something up, i have noticed the different center labels but never found out what pressing was what vs i think discogs just has a single listing
hzielaskowski
I was posting this few months ago. http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/71987-level-plane-records/?p=2359236 I'm 90% positive that this is correct. I bought mine at Slave Union way after release date and it had "face" labels. Back then I knew the record was repressed. If anyone could confirm that I would be grateful as well. jacktownjim
My copy has the "face" labels and an insert.
hzielaskowski
That would be correct. There was leftover of inserts. Some repressed copies has insert some not. At least this is my best knowledge.
thetrackt
Also, The Moon Is A Dead World is the pinnacle LP of this genre! This CoC album is not far behind though. Gospel FTW
buddha4281
stoked on this! p.s. am i the only one that thinks European "skramz" bands (Daitro, La Quiete, Sed Non Satiata, etc) are like top fucking notch? idk why but ive always leaned more towards those bands and that kind of sound. Never heard Gospel but downloading now.

Eliminator Jr.
Daitro were amazing. Mesa Verde's The Old Road should also be mentioned as a minor classic in the genre.
jrodan
La Quiete is the best band of this genre. CoC is definitely up there though. not a lot of screamo I can still jam, but those bands are still the shit.

plasma36
Euro screamo is in general the best screamo imo. Too many American bands spend more time falling over each other than actually writing cohesive songs and playing them properly. Also, Daitro and Raein in particular are really good at creating dynamic shifts that aren't just "here's the loud part then there's the part where we turn our distortion pedals off then we get loud again." Derek™
Daïtro for life. What plasma36 said, too; Daïtro (inparticular) write exceptionally good instrumental parts to accompany their vocals.

Yes for sure! I hold "Laisser Vivre Les Squelettes" at a level that is seems alot of people hold CoC at. Also, their split with Sed Non Satiata is personally super important to me
hzielaskowski
If you're talking about european screamo do not forget about Shikari (just please do not mistaken with Enter Shikari ). That was a wild beast.
