moonbeams
Its so crazy to me to see these insane collections of bands i have never heard of! I do have two questions for those of you who collect every color and version of every release though: 1)Do you do this with more than one band or is it only with your favorite? If yes, how do you afford it?! 2) Do you always only listen to the same color? Is there one record that you have designated as your playing copy? 1) I only do this with my favorite. First was Screeching Weasel, but eventually I got everything. Over the past few weeks, I sold the rarest SW variant and traded another. Balzac has been my favorite band, but their records are so rare (press runs of 6, 13, 24, 99, 138) that I gave up trying early on and focused on the Misfits. I had about 80 Misfits records, but I realized that completing the collection at that point would cost $16,000, which is stupid. So I stripped off my Misfits collection to the bare essentials above and raised a few grand for Balzac, which is the collection I'm working on now. Including jacket variants. Balzac has 98 pieces of vinyl, 348 CDs, 48 tapes, 39 VHS, and 92 DVDs. I put all their stuff on discogs here: http://www.discogs.com/artist/296257-Balzac 2) I like to switch it up. Different colors can add different moods. For me, sound quality is most important. Rhino pressings, especially the colored ones, of Walk Among Us sound terrible, so I usually give up trying to play them after a few seconds. They're so bad, that I sold 5 of them and didn't buy the latest (purple) press.
mclz
All the different variants of GNV FLA minus the clear with rainbow splatter. And I believe, but I'm not 100%, that those are the only three versions of the 20th Anniversary covers. Complete variant set of the most recent record, See the Light. A few random different 12" records. The last few 12" records and other random sized/shaped records/sets. Half of the 7" records. The other half of my 7" records along with a couple of 10" records and an 8" flexi record and a 7" flexi record. And last but not least, the Cereal Box. Wish I would've realized how blurry a couple of the pics were when I took these. Bad idea starting this at 1 in the morning haha. very nice! Is the screen printed GNV FLA blue or purple because I recall there being a purple one.
thenameisluigi
very nice! Is the screen printed GNV FLA blue or purple because I recall there being a purple one. Hmm the one I have is blue. These are the only ones I'd seen thus far. I'll have to keep an eye out for the purple one. I tried to find extra info about them online but couldn't find anything. And I unfortunately couldn't make it out for the shows when these were sold. =/
mclz
Yeah, there was definitely a purple....maybe a red too, but not sure on that.
thenameisluigi
Yep, just found a red one online haha. Still haven't seen the purple. They were probably more limited than the ones I have. I wish the official LTJ releases page was actually up to date haha.
Guest
Finally got around to taking some pictures of my Built to Spill collection. Here's the 12" and 10"s I've got all the full length albums and 10"s. I just need to track down orignal Up pressings of Perfect From Now On, Keep it Like a Secret, Live, and a black copy of There's Nothing Wrong With Love. These are ones I'm not actively hunting for, but if I find them for cheap I'll pick them up. The test pressings are for Perfect From Now On, Keep it Like a Secret, and You in Reverse. Here's the 7"s The test pressing in in the upper left corner is for the Helvetia/BtS flexi "Spooky Action at the Sufferbus". I've got every 7" except for two (see below) These are my favorites of the 7"s. It's the first single they put out - Car/Girl. The two on the bottom are made from old 12" sleeves and stickers affixed. I just need to find a green and a white copy to complete the 7" collection. Here's the whole collection together. Nuts. I'm not sure if I will ever try for test presses or the colored 7"s. Beautiful stuff though. I'm jealous.
gutterpunk79
I can't say for sure...but I believe that this is as complete as it gets! There isn't many Pennywise collectors out there, but for me it's one of my favorite band (music wise, but also collecting wise). passionbrand, jtcohenour, kyacrash and 6 others

thenameisluigi
Just updated this with a bunch of stuff that was missing from the pictures. And now there aren't any super blurry pics! Couple things are on their way in the mail, but this probably isn't gonna change much any time soon. Not til I line up a new gig at least haha. Updated post with updated, less blurry pics. Most of the GNV FLA variants. The only ones I know are missing are red and purple silkscreened covers. Complete variant set of the most recent record, See the Light. Had to combine the two pics bc apparently I posted too many for one post haha. First handful of random 12" records. Greased and Borders & Boundaries variants. All my shaped, odd sized records and last couple 12" records. G-Man/TV EP variants. Kemuri/Megadeth/Slayer/Muppets variants. Do the Math/Smoke Spot/J Church variants. Crash Course and Pesto variants with a couple other random records. The last bunch of random 7" records. And last but not least, the Cereal Box. openupyourskull
Slowly but surely getting some of my band collections photographed... here's a handful of my main ones. None are anywhere near complete but it's still fun to try. Apologies for the godawful iPhone photos.
