The Mondo Records Thread - You think limited? Will sell fast?

Recommended Posts

I feel like maybe Mondo should get out all the SOTD orders (& that one dude's Jurassic Park from the UK) before dropping another release. Seems like they have way too much on their plate.

There are many people still waiting for JP. It's been twice delayed and now, just recently, delayed again. Hopefully by year's end.

I am still in the JP bunch. I e mailed them two weeks ago about an update ad they said they were still waiting and if i didnt want to wait anymore i could just cancel my order. No real info on when i may receive it.

I'm still hoping for The Shining ost

Which version? The original or the complete Wendy Carlos score?

Ugh. What a bummer.

My SotD came today, looks mint.

It's crazy that they still have no clue as to when the copies will show up. Must be some gnarly delays at the pressing plant.

This is easily the longest I've waited for a Mondo release. Not really complaining as I've got an Amber copy to spin, but I'm just surprised they haven't officially updated customers again after this most recent delay.

Anyhow, it being Mondo I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow compensated those who have waited this long. I'm sure they've got at least a few upset customers over all this...

And does anybody know if there's a company that does like old school video game score type stuff on vinyl. Having the score/soundtrack for video games like Zombies Ate My Neighbors would be so dope. I'd buy in a heartbeat.

I actually work for a game developer and we considered pressing one of our recent game's soundtracks on wax, but the upfront cost and having to worry about taking orders and sending them out was scary.

I have often considered starting a mondo-esque label to license and press game soundtracks, but I'd have to quit my job and somehow raise the starting capital and it'd be a whole big thing.
