Emo Revival
You're going to be swimming in Pumpkin ales in the NE pal. Theres so many that my wife and I decided to have a pumpkin beer party rather than a Halloween party.
xadamhudsonx
Not a pumpkin ale, but if you guys are looking for a good "Fall/Autumn" beer, check out The Bruery's Autumn Maple. It's a heavy brown ale (about 12%abv) with big hits of maple, nutmeg, and spice. We just tapped a keg at my bar and everyone is telling me it reminds them of the holidays. Also goes well with big heavy "Fall/Winter" foods.

steviex2shoes
Anyone try the new Game Of Thrones beer yet? It's really good. Not sure if I like it better than the first one or not though. Granted the first one was a blonde ale and this one is a stout. did not realize there was another one out? Was it made by Ommegang again? The 1st one was decent, I'm sure my wife would want to try the stout if I can find a bottle.
Rip
Yep, Ommegang did indeed put it out again!
steviex2shoes
Yep, Ommegang did indeed put it out again! I'll be on the lookout for it, but it doesn't seem like it's in my area yet. It does say October 2013 so my guess is it'll start popping up shortly.

David The Gnome
My pumpkin recs: Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin and Pumpking. Having my first Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin now. So so spicy/tasty. It may very well be my favorite pumpkin beer.

radiatorhums
Anybody have a couple thousand dollars lying around? http://beerservedrare.wordpress.com/2013/09/25/hair-of-the-dog-dave-bottles-for-sale/ That's insane! Getting an ABV like that on a beer is incredibly impressive, I would love to have an ounce of that. A friend of mine gave me a bomber of Pike Place Brewery's Harlot's Harvest. Pretty disappointing pumpkin ale. It was way too sweet for my taste. Not enough pumpkin flavor, too much spice. It wasn't necessarily a bad beer, but I couldn't really recommend it either. sirrichardrichard
Just tried Toronto's Mill St.'s "Nightmare on Mill Street" Pumpkin, fantastic. Anyone in Canada, with access to is, should pick it up.

radiatorhums
I LOVE HAMM'S. Hamm's is easily my favorite American adjunct lager. The best cheap-o beer if you ask me (although I do have a soft spot for Miller High Life and Rainier as well).
jtcohenour
I haven't seen Hamm's for sale in a long time.
radiatorhums
I haven't seen Hamm's for sale in a long time. It's fairly easy to find up here. It's usually what I drink when I'm out and either a) broke or plan on being out for more than a couple hours. jtcohenour
allenh
I have been enjoying reading through the various posts on the board and then I find one on beer, it must be Friday. I am British but my parents emigrated to the US about 15 years ago. On my many visits over to where they are in the US and touring about in that time I have noticed a definate shift away from mass produced lager toward more micro brewery and specialist type beers, IPA's and that sort of thing becoming more widely available and mainstream. Would this be an accurate assumption? I took it upon myself many years ago to sample as much varied beer as possible world wide, it's a thankless task but someone had to take the job on. jtcohenour
Yes that would be an appropriate assumption about the states. I'm a big fan of beers from the UK as well. My favorite is Youngs Luxury Double Chocolate Stout. I got hooked on quite a few UK beers when I was stationed in Europe years ago.
Emo Revival
I had a growler of Sweet Baby Jesus last night. Such a good beer, I could drink a whole case of it.
radiatorhums
Just discovered I'm going to be in town for the first 4 days of Austin Beer Week! Looks like a lot of cask beer related events, should be a blast! jtcohenour

I tried a bottle two weeks ago. The Warlock was nice and malty. I liked it a lot, but still a fan of the pumking more. Can't go wrong either way though! Pumking is getting harder to find around here and I was lucky enough to find a bottle of Warlock when I did. That was the one and only time I saw it anywhere in my area.
