tape
someone a while back posted a mod where they glued a small strip of wood to the back to act act as a stopper My roommate (he's crafty) took left over mailers (we had like 25 at the time), cut them, and made what would could be considered as rectangular prisms to place behind the LPs as stoppers for my expedit. He then spray painted them black so they wouldn't be visible. They have a height of about 2", width of maybe the same, and a length of the size of the cubby. hm, both of these plans, pretty solid. bathroommonkey
On a similar but different note to spacers: For those with Expedits, what (if anything) do you use to backstop your records in the shelves? I'm sick of pushing a bunch of records way back into the shelf every time I put a record back in its place. AdventureIsOutThere
zuck
This is what I did. I actually got the idea from when this picture was originally posted & it works great. It's a 2x3 piece of wood that Home Depot will cut to size for you.

withengineheart
Ugh, apartment life sucks sometimes. I hear ya homie. Our shop got these kits in for about 25-30usd. Expedit is beyond crammed but this did the trick. Room for about 150-200 rekkadz. I've had a lot of fun with it in that its become my 'recent finds' rotation. Odd how a small change in storage methods can effect your mood/taste when choosing a stack to spin- I've started picking out a playlist for the week to flip through. Love it. I'll post a link for stateside purchase once I remember/find out what it's called. current rotation: Minnesota nostalgia
withengineheart
Super easy to make from scratch I presume but the kit took a whole of 5 minutes to screw together and are durable enough for stacking if space is an issue.
ronniegwilliams
Oh word, I saw something like that at a Hastings last month. I suppose I should have picked it up. I'm sure Amazon would have something comparable.
alogical
finally ran out of room in the tiny little shelf thingy I have now. Do most people agree that the Expedit (2 blocks x 4 blocks) is a safe bet? I have the room and it looks nice. I'm assuming not much can go wrong with a shelf but just wondering. ronniegwilliams
Jesus, just checked and it's around $350 for shipping alone for a 2x4 expedit. It couldn't really cost that much could it? Damn Gina!

somethingvinyl
Good eye. I always notice good jazz, especially Brown. He lived so short and only put out a limited amount. Even comps like that aren't the easiest to come across.
somethingvinyl
Just bought a 2x4 at the Dallas IKEA this weekend. Having my girlfriend's dad drive it down when he comes here next month. We flew there so it would have been impossible to bring back. Also, the 2x4 box is bigger and heavier than I ever imagined it would be.
youspinmeround
Why don't you just put those records on one of those shelves? I amazed that someone took a picture of 4 records in a crate and posted it as their storage Seems like one of the reddit people who post their collection and their purchases when they have 4 records total and than disappear
