  4. To be fair it could have just been the fact that a SRC preorder shipped that shorted him out.

  5. Right on. Also, not sure what a "bu dream" is, but what I tried to type was bundle 🤷 damn you, autocorrect!

  7. I just A/B'd both versions on my setup. I may be in the minority, but I strongly prefer version 1. The original release has a heavier handed production, with tasteful reverb soaking over everything to give the album a foggy atmospheric feeling which I feel suits the material really well. Version 2 is much lighter on the production, with the drums feeling more raw and vocals cutting through the middle a little more. I don't feel that either mix is objectively better than the other, but they definitely offer different vibes. I'm glad I picked up both, but version 1 is probably going to be my go-to.

    Shoegaze/Dream Pop Thread

Grivo scratches that itch of gloom/ doom that comes into my life or resurfaces every now and again. Not an every day band for sure. They're not as downtempo as True Widow....(is any other band, as in s l o w w w w?) but there's some intersection in the music to my ears. Different vocal styles of course.

    Shoegaze/Dream Pop Thread

Pretty sure you and my IRL friend would get along very well because we’re basically this haha. The tree trunk to our musical connection is the same but branches go in far different directions typically. I can understand if someone can’t get into Grivo. Feels like an all or nothing type of band. Those warm moody tones hit the spot so perfectly for me so I can gobble it all up. But if it doesn’t click for you then there’s basically zero variety in their two albums.

  10. I’d be in for a simple lp repress, but don’t want an 80 page book talking about their good ol’ days in the Christian Hc scene, so I passed. Give me something around $25 and I’ll pick it up.

  11. Tried that new Grivo out before the praise in this thread kicked in, and couldn’t wait for it to be over. I’m really not seeing the appeal, which also seems to add up with my consistently, nearly inverted tastes to mrewest. You can almost set a watch by it.
