If you have any questions about shipping options not showing up or want to let them know what records you already have and don't want in the bundles, you can always email their mail-order dude Robbie at [email protected] and he'll help you out. And in case you're worried about it, I can confirm 100% that his intent is genuine.

That champagne/coke bottle clear looks pretty sweet with the artwork.

The 100 space wall mounts were tempting, but my wife would have nothing of them, so I went for the 1980's style cabinets. Instead of the faux wood color, I waited for some Black units to show up at the thrift store. I have another one ready when these are full - which is pretty close. (This discgear CD holder is for my 'mixtape' CDs I burn)

I bought some napa valley cases from someone off craigslist that didnt really know the cost or what they were worth
I got a 100 space and a 40 slot case for 30 total ANDDDD he had a grip of tapes that I gave him a 1.00 each for (deftones, korn, marilyn manson, a bunch of others)

Dear Lord. This is the worst one yet.
I really hope he is concentrating all these kinds of pop abominations onto one album and that the black album will be continuing from White/EWBAITE. Pray for us all.

Very very understated but it's there at the bottom of the page (I highlighted it in yellow).

Anyone else get there B&N copy canceled without requesting to do so? I just logged in my account to see what was going on with it and the order status is canceled.  It also looks like the updated the title to "signed door hanger"

I think, for people who love/hate/mildly have opinions about Turtleneck, placing it right in the middle was the smartest choice. I like the song and it functions as a nice intermission between both halves of the album. To be nitpicky, it fits in the least as far as the songwriting and production, so I won't begrudge anyone who dislikes it.

Check back in after you've listened to it 4-5 times.

This one is a different kind of grower than other National albums, as a majority of the songs build slowly, use very simple vocal melodies, and are driven by the drums & electronic layers rather than drums & shimmering Dessner guitars. IMO, once you start telling the slow songs apart from each other, you realize they are just as great as the obvious faster songs and have their own jittery, unsettling bite to them even though they're a bit stripped down.

The slow songs blend together on the first few listens. Keep listening. Around listen 4 or 5, I started to separate the tracks better and hear what each was doing differently. Dark Side of the Gym has become my favorite song and I wouldn't have been able to tell you a single lyric or melody from it if you asked me about it after the first few spins.

Just listened to Dear Life. Thanks to the poster who shared it here.
Much much better than Dreams and Wow for me. It was nice to see that guitar in there and that brief bridge reminded me of that sound he was playing with in those 12" singles he released before Morning Phase. I might have to just buy this and have faith that Dreams/Wow are the outliers as far as sound/genre.
Also LOL at the $13 cassette. I love the idea that large labels and bands are pricing cassettes like they are CDs and this is 2003.

    Good stuff here.

Fully agree that although I didn't like "Feels Like Summer" at all, "Mexican Fender" had some likable qualities that hopefully will make it similar to how I felt about TGFG once the entire White Album dropped - a brief detour from the overall albums feel sonically.

That said, I'm not encouraged considering we already have two singles that I'm not crazy about. At least when DYWGH was released it gave me a lot of faith.

Sounds like this album is all the songs that were too Hurley/Raditude to fit on a decent upstanding Weezer album, like White. Surprised they didn't save Thank God for Girls for this one.

My friend, comedian Matt Harbert, and I tried to unpack and make sense of "Feels Like Summer" on my podcast. If you don't have time to listen, my one-line review is "It sounds like a Maroon 5 song written for a baseball video game."

A whole album of deep voice backup vocals a la "BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN" would also cause me to pledge allegiance to Brand New. I was bummed when that voice didn't come back and share ocean facts or recite a sea-themed limerick in the vein of a There Might Be Giants cut.

Some users, not all, on VMP are relatively new to digging into music. It's tempting to poke fun at the mix of enthusiasm and lack of knowledge but, IMO, it's also very cool that more people are diving into the insane treasure hunt that is working backwards into the history of rock/hip hop/modern music. We all start somewhere and, after 22 years of collecting music, there are well known bands/genres I'm still naive towards. I didn't really get into Talking Heads until last year, I have zero knowledge of Jazz, etc. I tend to keep quiet about genres/bands I am barely getting to know while maybe some VMP posters can be more quick to assume the role of expert but I think that's just, as I said, the enthusiasm. Also, I consider myself a very young 31 year old man but I have to remember that still means I might have 13 years of more music listening on some other adults. Anyway, thanks for reading my novel.

I don't think many are new at digging into music in general but I think it's that a lot of them have a certain genre that they're comfortable with and so may different genres get discussed/hyped over there that they may be digging into areas that they may not have before.
