tokimedo
Just asked my GF about this and it is true but you have to be eligible for an upgrade. and you only get the 16GB which in my opinion just isnt enough.

steventangent
I wonder if I could archive texts to Evernote...this would make my life so much easier. My 16gb phone just isn't enough, even with spotify. I have sprint. I haven't had enough time to look into the new plans. I don't want my bill to go up. museummouth
With verizon I'm pretty sure you just get a $200 visa gift card for trading in. I got the 64gb for $300 so technically after the gift card it's like getting it for $100.
Shitty Rambo
Sprint is offering the iPhone 6 with a $50 unlimited plan, that plus the fact that they are offering the LG G3 for $99.00 has made up my mind to switch from Verizon. Anyone wanna buy 2 unlimited data lines from Verizon? Haha, you can sell them on the Bay, they go for like $600 a pop. Totally going to do that. radiatorhums
I have to buy my phone flat out, going to be an expensive fall. But, my bill is only 55$ for unlimited everything, so I'm saving money in the long run.
tokimedo
with the spring plan, i pay $65 a month unlimited everything, and i dont have to buy the iphone 6 out right. in 2 years, when a new one comes out, i hand in my iphone 6 and they hand me a new one. bluedeni
I have to say the sprint plan sounds pretty good.
dantheriver
Too bad sprint has the worst LTE coverage of them all. I suppose if it works well in your home town and you don't travel then it is awesome though. I travel all over the US for my job, so I'll keep paying $90 a month for unlimited everything and pay the subsidized price through ATT. radiatorhums
That Sprint plan does sound good. I do like having an unlocked phone though. Makes getting international service much easier when traveling.
suchashorttime
The vzw promo gets you a vzw gift card for 200. No physical trade in or actual credit toward your phone. It's a scam.
Family Friendly Rap God
The vzw promo gets you a vzw gift card for 200. No physical trade in or actual credit toward your phone. It's a scam. Which you then in turn use toward your iPhone 6. Think you need to look at the definition of scam again.
marc32137
The ATT trade in program also gives you a company gift card, which they say you can use towards your bill and accessories/etc. For me, a $300 trade in means 4 months of no phone bill. AlexH.
Will never understand why people keep wanting bigger phones. My iPhone 5 is perfect, I can hold it in one hand and reach the whole screen with my thumb. Why would I sacrifice that? So I'm more comfortable watching Netflix on the bus over my 2GB/month capped internet? DUMB
ronniegwilliams
If anyone has questions about the 6, upgrades, or Sprint plans, message me. It's what I do for a living and I'm always happy to help. radiatorhums

kevinxabney
Thread was TLDR; but I had the first iPhone, then the 4. Currently have a Nokia Lumia Icon - will be getting the iPhone 6 Plus on Friday if my guy comes through for me. Shouldn't be too hard to find. suchashorttime
Which you then in turn use toward your iPhone 6. Think you need to look at the definition of scam again. Think you're missing the point, chief. Unless you turn in your old iPhone and go without a phone for a few weeks, you will not get your $200 vzw credit in time to immediately purchase the new phone. From the trade-in FAQ: "your order amount is not reduced by your trade-in value. Instead, you will receive an electronic gift card for the appraised trade-in value within two weeks from the time we receive your device." So, you need to buy an iPhone 6 to qualify, then trade in your phone, then receive Verizon credit. Still not seeing how you're going to apply that to the purchase of the phone. thebiglebowski
Jumping into the middle of a conversation but if you currently own an iPhone, are upgrading to a 6, and have to have the $200 trade-in credit to avoid a financial short-fall, you are making a dumb decision. If someone with a couple thousand saved up wants to chase the latest and greatest apple products, whatever makes you happy. So it shouldn't really matter if the rebate comes immediately or later, if people are making common sense decisions.
Shitty Rambo
So I pulled the trigger, sold my Verizon unlimited plan for $500. I ordered an LG G3 from Sprint with unlimited data, the phone was only $99 with a contact I get a 20% discount on. Once the iPhone 6 is openly available and not on a nightmarish backorder I'll be doing the same for my wife, basically upgrading our devices and pocketing $400+ when all is said and done.
