TIME has nothing to do with damage to records from shrinkwrap. It's temp and humidity fluctuations. Warm temps shrink the shrinkwrap causing the jacket to bow, thus causing a warped record (which is easily repaired).

Given the right temps/storage etc, a shrinkwrapped jacket won't bow or warp.

If I've bought a record and don't have to time to give it a thorough clean/spin yet, I'll toss the record in its' shrink in a sleeve and shelve it. That way when I do get around to it, I remove the shrink and don't have to go searching for another.

I'm also not a big vinyl framing guy, but to each their own on that front. However if you are framing, the shrink will only add another level of reflection, assuming the frame has glass and/or plastic already covering the album. So I'd personally remove the shrink, again assuming this piece will remain framed/in your collection for the foreseeable future.

This is hilarious. Specially the part that the clear thick sleeve of this is made out of PVC and it will fuck up the record more than any warping you have ever seen. Basically what happens is some kind of a chemical reaction which starts to melt the grooves, visually the record turns paler through time (5 years or so). I thought it was BS until I saw this on my couple of Nuclear Blast records.
