Bladewillisisdead
Better framed than flipped. Note: if I had the clear version I would 100% sell it for the prices it's been going for. I'd rather get a tattoo, pay some bills, and spin a black copy. entendu

I think it takes decades, but eventually shrinkwrap will cause some damage. I just see 0 reason to keep something in shrink when clear sleeves exist. vinyl addict
Value. Value is the reason for keeping records sealed. I don't understand why a collector's site has an issue with other collectors keeping some stuff sealed. I buy doubles of a lot of albums, just to keep 1 sealed. What a fool I am. Young Thug
Buy sleeves. There's really no reason to keep anything shrinkwrapped. Like, what are the pros to doing that? I actually keep my extra copies in sleeves. Plenty of other people keep them shrinkwrapped and it hasn't ruined their lives so who cares.

vinyl addict
TIME has nothing to do with damage to records from shrinkwrap. It's temp and humidity fluctuations. Warm temps shrink the shrinkwrap causing the jacket to bow, thus causing a warped record (which is easily repaired). Given the right temps/storage etc, a shrinkwrapped jacket won't bow or warp. Canuckle
If I've bought a record and don't have to time to give it a thorough clean/spin yet, I'll toss the record in its' shrink in a sleeve and shelve it. That way when I do get around to it, I remove the shrink and don't have to go searching for another. I'm also not a big vinyl framing guy, but to each their own on that front. However if you are framing, the shrink will only add another level of reflection, assuming the frame has glass and/or plastic already covering the album. So I'd personally remove the shrink, again assuming this piece will remain framed/in your collection for the foreseeable future.

apirk
Better framed than flipped Not really, trophy collectors are just as bad, IMO Do what you want it is your album. With it hanging on your wall you can always be reminded that this album used to sell for a lot of money.

markok
This is hilarious. Specially the part that the clear thick sleeve of this is made out of PVC and it will fuck up the record more than any warping you have ever seen. Basically what happens is some kind of a chemical reaction which starts to melt the grooves, visually the record turns paler through time (5 years or so). I thought it was BS until I saw this on my couple of Nuclear Blast records.
