SeeMoreGlass
Whiplash: Sorry Birdman, you were great, but this beast should have won Best Picture. Word...or Boyhood... Also, The Theory of Everything was an extremely boring sappy schmaltzy film that makes me sad Stephen Hawking didn't get the film about his life that he deserves. Watched the movie About Time because KeepDoubting recommended it and it was surprisingly fantastic. looks like a romcom but is totally not at all... Wasn't a huge fan of Foxcatcher or Birdman...both were pretty middle of the road flicks that I probably will never watch or think about again... Still have to see Selma, The Imitation Game and American Sniper and I am suspecting that I am going to hate all three of them...but we will see... ronniegwilliams
Just started Togetherness, the new HBO show created by the Duplass brothers (Jeff, Who Lives at Home, Baghead). If you dig any of their previous work, then you will definitely dig on this.

Everyone I've recommended it to has really enjoyed it. I thought The Imitation Game was great. Selma and American Sniper were fine.
Family Friendly Rap God
I've been watching The Pacific. Absolutely fantastic
3arl
If you're a fan of documentaries then I can't recommend The Overnighters enough. One of the most surprisingly heartbreaking things I've seen in a while. It's on Netflix now so you have no excuses.
Team Avatar
I might have already brought this up in here before, but Snowpiercer is the best movie I've scene in a long long time. this is interesting haha - my dad and I were gonna watch but it looked kinda dumb. will see if he wants to watch now
Bladewillisisdead
It is kinda dumb, but it's still good. Tilda Swinton kills it as usual.
ronniegwilliams
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Snowpiercer was extremely overrated; however, that is merely one guy's opinion
ronniegwilliams
Just watched Beneath (2014), not a terrible watch; mostly just a poor man's Descent replacing the monsters with mankind. It's on Netflix if you find yourself needing something a bit creepy.

I can say with zero doubt that this is one of the greatest documentaries I've ever seen. What an amazing story about a man being trying his hardest to be a good person and help his fellow man. Do yourselves a favor and watch this immediately.
kyacrash
I watched Snowpiercer before any of the critical acclaim came about, strictly because I thought the two sentence description on IMDB made it sound cool, and I fucking loved it. I know sometimes hype can make or break a movie, but going in blind on that one worked out well for me. And like Ronnie said, that's just my opinion. nick6ten
Just got home from seeing "Wild Tales" - Everyone loves a good comedy, and everyone loves a good revenge story. Luckily, this is both, six-fold. One of the best movies I've seen in years. Unfortunately, tonight was the last night it was playing in town. If it's playing near you, go see it. paintedinexile
For some reason the ads don't bother me. *shrugs*
Bladewillisisdead
I don't mind them too much. But if I was paying for hulu+ I'd be pissed
Twistedshabazz
louie season 4 got added to netflx. gonna be my next binge after peaky blinders. i also hate the ads on hulu plus. i pay 8 bucks and still have them. its infuriating.
Breezus
I agree with those who have praised Nightcrawler in this thread. It's brilliant and Gyllenhaal is indeed scary as hell. I kinda expected horror-esque movie - then again, it was quite realistic which makes it all the more horrific in a way.

I loved Season 4. The tone of the whole season was even stranger than usual (if that's possible with Louie) and even with a six-part episode about some pretty mundane shit, it all held up very well. Louis CK really is a genius.

̮ ɤ ̮
Nothing Bad Can Happen (OT: Tore Tanzt) This has probably been the most misanthropic, degrading and disturbing movie I've seen since Requiem For A Dream. Hard to watch, but highly recommended.
ronniegwilliams
Sure, I've watched it a thousand times, but I rewatched the og Dawn of the Dead tonight and I'm always stoked on all of the new things I notice from each viewing. I really want to watch a movie that actually scares me. It's been a really, really long time
