soundboard
To me it's only considered flipping when you buy something just to turn around and sell it for a profit. Kind of the same concept of flipping a house for a profit. You buy a house never intendening to live in it but instead want to "flip" it to someone else for more than you paid. homework and konk

The profit doesn't matter to me, it's whether or not you bought something just to turn around and sell it. The intent pisses me off more than the profit amount because that item could have ended up in a real fans hands instead of that of someone with no interest in it whatsoever outside of possibly making money on it. videogamesandvinyl

Spot on. The worst flippers are the douchebags who sell stuff on eBay for four times the price, list it for 30 days, and let it ride when the product is still in stock. It's inevitable that some idiot will purchase it used or touched by those scoundrels, and this saddens me.

A REAL FAN should have known about the release, saved up and made plans to get it. A REAL FAN should quickly move on and be happy with the record on black or whatever non-limited variant there might be. ditc586 and GoBlue325

I think you've made an unfair ASSumption. RowBearToe

Your internet starts going out. Yeah, fun times.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
whatever happened to newbie bootcamp for VC? that was the whole reason JHulud wanted more moderators, so he could start this VC training program for new posters to learn about this board BEFORE they posted so they dont have to waste anyones time. I assume that didnt happen, all that happened was losing our like totals, which was the only vindication for posting here.
timbrh2001
Just want opinions on what people think. When is selling a record considered flipping? At what price is it considered flipping? Hell, people get mad when i try to sell things at cost, when they're apparently selling for less on ebay. So literally at this point I could care less about this issue. Its dead to me. Do whatever the fuck you want with the things you buy. ditc586

True, it happens to all of us. What's worse than flipping though is the incessant whining and hate messages from babies who didn't get their favorite color. ditc586
dreamover
sometimes 'buying a record, seeing it sell out, and realizing it's value is worth more than the record itself, and quickly selling' gets confused with flipping. chutterhanban

Brock N Roll
Just so you guys know....last night this tool posted a FS thread posting a link to his two eBay auctions. One was for the new repress of Thursday-Full Collapse on Orange. I first thought to myself, is this guy just flipping this? I then looked at his other auction and it was for the new TBS repress of "where you want to be"...he had it as a starting bid of $50 and a buy it now at $175. He proceeded to get torn apart in his thread and then deleted it This guy is a douche ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
