Samdroid
I've also seen a bunch of pictures of the album with yellow tape instead of red. Different version? I have no goddamn idea which version to get, I keep hearing different things from different people T_____T

Rip
Grabbed the CD a little while ago! Been waiting to have the CD to give it a listen so I can't wait to finally do that.
000000
Apparently there's a hidden track on the cd... Update: its freaking awful. Don't bother seeking it out.

firefoxUSSR
wait is there really a hidden track?!?! Yes we are secret Kanye stans. I have fantasy, 808s, and college dropout needledrops... I might buy Late Registration even though the quality is supposed to be terrible.

kidamnesiac
Apparently there's a hidden track on the cd... There is no hidden track. Just a torrent floating around with some weird remix tacked on to the actual album.
birdturbo
So let's get this straight: The leaked version is the current retail CD version, but the US iTunes version is supposed to have superior mastering or something? And apparently the NZ iTunes version has different mastering than the US iTunes version and CD version.
drewberinger
thanks OBAMA!
cwhitmuzik
Also a few differences between the iTunes version and the CD. Lupe sings the first line of Black Skinhead, drums are stronger in that too. Also the beat drops out in a line around 1:28 in Send It Up.

And apparently the NZ iTunes version has different mastering than the US iTunes version and CD version. CD/NZ iTunes/other web releases have the same mix CD has lossy mastering on one song - "Hold My Liquor" US iTunes has a slightly different mix than other versions - the most notable differences being a non-doubled vocal on the first line of "Black Skinhead" and a beat that cuts shorter than other versions in the middle of "I Am A God." In my opinion so far, any non-physical version is superior to the CD because of the lossy master problem.
paranoidantroyd
Is this Kanye's way of trying fit in with DIY hip hop?
kidamnesiac
For you CD variant hounds, there are four different colors of tape. Red, orange, blue, and pink. Content on all of these is the same. Only the sticker color is different.
chutterhanban
Anyone compare what's on spotify to the physical and/or US iTunes? That's what I'll listen to until vinyl (if it happens, I guess).
biodigitaljazz
In my opinion so far, any non-physical version is superior to the CD because of the lossy master problem. Well these non-physical versions are gonna be 256kbps digital, iTunes and such. That's why I bought the CD today. For you CD variant hounds, there are four different colors of tape. I got a copy without tape So I put red tape on and wrote "Yeezus"

MP3s from kanyewest.com are reportedly 320 kbps and lossless is available from Qobuz. 256 kbps AAC from iTunes is near equivalent if not better than 320 kbps MP3. Again, the CD has lossy mastering on "Hold My Liquor." What that means is that the song is likely sourced from a low bitrate MP3 or other lossy format. I wouldn't buy the CD unless that problem is fixed, personally.
