Tardcore
Just looking for some opinions/info on Autographed records. Has anybody had an autograph authenticated by a 3rd party? Is it worth doing? I have had this signed copy of the Ramones S/T for about 10 years. I bought it in an auction run by Arturo Vega (RIP) who was running the official Ramones website at the time. No real plans to sell it, just wondering what factors go into setting value on a signed record. dreamwolf
museummouth
Most people are really hesitant about signed records. I for one don't trust any signed record unless I personally saw it being signed. So it's a bit of an iffy area to me.
kevinxabney
I'm hesitant about signed anything - even if I'm the one there personally watching it be signed. dreamwolf and cambionic
bear801
^^^ that signed Ramones record is an incredible thing to own. Earlier this year The Replacements put 250 autographed records on ebay. The prized piece of my collection. Such a great band.

ratbrain
i'm such a dope -- when i saw this i was like "WHY WOULD YOU CUT THE JACKET IN HALF," didn't occur to me that you might, yknow, own two copies of the record
Tardcore
yeah...I bought a second copy =) It technically came with a "certificate of authenticity" but it's not very official looking. Basically ink-jet printed document signed by Arturo Vega which is sort of cool too. hugs

Tardcore
http://www.psacard.com/Services/AutographAuthentication Thanks for the link. Looks like it would cost $100 to get an official certification.

oxxo
I typically don't care much for autographed records, but I did get Hanni El Khatib to sign my tri-color copy of Head In The Dirt this year at the Fillmore. I also got Etta James to sign a copy of her 1955 hit "The Wallflower" years ago. I also have a copy of Purple allegedly signed by STP, but would prob need it verified before I believe it. streetwaves
The Joey signature looks off. I have a signed Ramones LP that I had signed in an in-store in '89. Joey often added the year to his signature.

Youinreverse
I've got about 15 signed records. I've never sold a signed album before, and I don't think it would be worth the hassle. I like getting records signed as a sort of memento I guess. I only do it if the band's at the merch table or hanging around the venue. I try not to bother anyone in the band if they're busy. Most bands are happy to sign things and talk, which is pretty cool. The only bad experience I've had with asking for an autograph was with Michael Cera when he was playing bass for Mister Heavenly. So awkward. Fridge Fox
romanos27
Arturo Vega was kinda like the 5th Ramone. If he auctioned it, I would feel pretty safe that it's for real. And I can tell you that I met Johnny and got his autograph, and his signature on your record looks spot on.

FangsAnalSatan
I bought a repress of Focus by Cynic that was signed by two band members. I got it from Century Media so I hope it's legit.
iron666monkey
I have a decent amount of signed albums but this will never bet topped, so much so that I had to get it framed. Sorry for the shitty picture. caninesapien

That would be topped if it was Bon Scott that signed a Bon are album. I've only got a couple of signed things, spencer p. jones(legendary Aussie guitarist), a few less than jake things, living with lions - holy shit on gold. Agreed, a Bon Scott signed lp would top it but sadly I doubt I'll ever get one.
jhook
If you got it From Arturo Vega it is most likely authentic. I am not a huge fan of signed records. The only one I own is a signed Avengers repress that Penelope Houston signed when I bought it from her at their merch table. I was too drunk to tell her I didn't care if she signed it. Haha

SaulManella
The only autographed record I have is Bayside. It's the aqua swirl TWW variant. I don't care how much it's worth, if anything. It's mine.
