unknown pleasures
Seriously, what would these AmRep releases - especially the Melvins ones - need to retail for not to sell out in minutes? They seem overpriced as it is, even with the cool artwork, but the fanbase eats them up!
ethereal
Lots of art collectors like to snag these because of Haze.... not surprised at all. Popular Art/streetwear world stuff typically sells out in seconds. Nothing new....
NapalmBrain
Honestly the Cows "Sexy Pee Story" is nothing special either in terms of sound, but it does look really cool and there is no retail pressing so glad I snagged it a couple months back. Not like I'm looking for audiophile on noise rock records though
nothingnatural
Anyone score the Mudvins 10" today? I went for the bundle but it sold out during checkout. Ended up with the 'Golden Boy' version. Glad the bundle sold out as I didn't need 5 versions of this.
morfiend
Had 2 versions at 2 different times but couldn’t get through checkout. All I wanted was 1 copy of any variant. Oh well 🤷♂️
jhulud
Got lucky & nabbed the pink parlor edition one. It’s the one I wanted. Was going to try for the GID one but too steep of a price.

twatay
Initially went for the Las Vegas Nuke Testing GITD version, but was too slow. Feel lucky to have gotten the Pink Parlor edition. I like how Hughes is more distinct visually on the pink cover. Edited July 6, 2020 by twatay edition
bgdesign
I also grabbed the pink. $75 seemed excessive for the GITD version.
kramer73
How much were these? I kinda spaced and forgot about them yesterday (not that it would have mattered, it seems). Maybe I'll be able to get the factory version? Unless those will be super limited as well.
rickker
Electroretard red factory editions up. /400 https://www.shoxop.com/collections/brand-spanking-new/products/melvins-electroretard-lp-reissue-red-factory-edition
ethereal
this is worth it alone for that interstellar overdrive cover
Sad Heart
I ordered that Melvins / Mudhoney CD for $5 and it got “delivered” the other day, but not to me. I asked if they could send out a replacement and I got a reply of “we can’t tell if you’re lying or not but we’ll send you one but understand we’re taking a loss”. I could understand that for a rare expensive record, but it’s just a CD-R. Not really great customer service. They also said they won’t send to this address again, especially since this was my first order with them. Feel a little off put by their response. Odds are the post man put it in the wrong slot, or some took it. I’ve posted on my apartment’s community board, checked the postage office, and left a note in my box for the post man; everything I could think of. Not a huge deal cause it was $9 so I won’t lose sleep over it. Was kinda just hoping for a more understanding response. It’s “sold out” online, so I can’t order another one even if I wanted. And wouldn’t want to end up spending $20 on a CD of 5 songs essentially. Sorry I’m rambling. Could anyone rip the CD for me? I’d appreciate it. He replied and put up a new batch of them so I can buy one. Looks like no replacement for me. Lame. fish
That is obnoxious. I guess they dont make enough on their $75 glow in the dark eps to cover the $5 hit they would have had to take on your replacement.

I honestly was so tempted to reply to him with pretty much that exact statement. Guess the $12k they just made in half a day from the Electroretard pressing wasn’t enough to cover the CD either. I recently ordered a couple of LP’s from a small label who screwed up the order but told me to keep the LP I didn’t order and also refunded my money. The customer service was great even though I’m pretty sure they also took a loss. Sad Heart

I’m just being thankful it happened with a CD and not something super expensive. Sadly, I won’t be ordering from them again.
ethereal
not to say this makes things right but a huge portion of the up-charge on the art editions is to pay Haze for his time and art; I highly doubt that 100% of those funds go directly back to the label. twatay
This is the harsh truth...Haze is too fuckin busy and his time is too valuable to fuk wit a lost $5 CD. There. I said it.
morfiend
I always find it amusing when labels get all pissy about returns or dealing with customer service. If you don't want to deal with returns or customer service in general, don't run a label or distro. Is it worth it to lose a customer over a $5 CD? As someone who's sold records for 10 years now the answer is absolutely not, I don't care how busy you are. If you run your business the right way you should have minimal returns. ok., Plarocks and Sad Heart
stl_ben
Just guessing most customers aren't going to stop buying over a $5 order....and they probably take the attitude of being fine if they do. Stuff will still instantly sell out.
