And I didn't really want to vote for Godspeed again, since they [rightfully] won the F round... but after considering the magnitude of this album, how could I not? Modest Mouse's Lonesome Crowded West is damn fine. My Blood Valentine's Loveless is a classic. And I consider Appleseed Cast's Low Level Owl (I + II) to be nothing short of a masterpiece. But even combined, those three albums don't capture the dynamic found on Skinny Fists. It's haunting but inspiring. Grim but hopeful. Chaotic and structured. Noisy and soothing. I don't expect it to win the L round, but for those of us who are familiar with what this record brings to the table...
