jon720
I'm over the different color thing. I ordered cola, got 'shit' as everyones calling it instead. I was just happy to finally own it because it's so damn good, BUT my side 2 is ridiculously bad as far as surface noise, hisses and pops goes. I thought maybe it just needed a good cleaning, so that's what I did. I even played it on my other Turntable after cleaning it thinking maybe the needle was going bad on the first one. I've seen other people complaining about the same issue, just wondering if it runs the different variants or is it just the 'shit' color? My Navy has some notable surface noise. Not as bad as some other records I have, but annoying nonetheless.
Eliminator Jr.
180g black sounds flawless. No surface noise, no crackles, no pops, nothing. I'm listening to my records with headphones 90% of the time, so I'm very conscious about every kind of flaw that might come up while listening to vinyl. This pressing is one of the most perfect in my collection. David Loyd

drewberinger
I hope I got a cola variant instead of the diarrhea variant - that hot topic variant looks good so maybe I'll pick that up as well
dantheriver
Didn't notice much surface noise on my navy variant but it does skip one time right at the beginning of the B side. Upon visual inspection there is a small pock mark there. Might pick up another variant down the line rather than try and get a replacement for one small skip. xspinzx
So I just received the "shit brown" variant. I NEVER ordered it. Haha. I ordered the navy copy and already got that a few days ago, so they fucked up and sent me a free record.

This sounds like the same problem I had with the John K Samson record on white. Side B had TONS of surface noise on it. Unlistenable. People complained and the stock Epitaph response was, "Yeah, we told the band the white would sound like that but they wanted it white so that's just what it sounds like." Maybe they should press with a company that makes decent-sounding colored records.
johnmiller
Definitely going to grab that HT exclusive if I can find it.
The Saint
Is the black really 180g? Cause I'll just go for that if that's the case.
Bladewillisisdead
Is the black really 180g? Cause I'll just go for that if that's the case. I think it's the EU pressing that is 180g The Saint

parkinglot
Who's cola at Epitaph has red, yellow and blue in it?! Mine does you just have to hold them up to the light right I think he was implying that the cola they drink at Epitaph must be colorful. Or maybe Justin was making a joke too, and it went completely over my head.
drewberinger
I feel bad about the inconsistencies with this pressing - so far my record sounds good but it sucks for those who got one with surface noise - this is just a bizarre pressing
himynameisdk
Despite the surface noise inbetween every track on my 'cola' copy I still think the music more than makes up for it. Epitaph definitely needs to step their game up with their vinyl though.
amnstypls
I have surface noise in the gaps as well, and a bit at the beginning of Repine, but it's still more than acceptable to me. Record sounds fantastic on wax.
Dusted_By_Space
I asked krm about the difference in the cola copies and just got this in an email. "The manufacture had the cola albums pressed at two different locations since there was a delay and they wanted them out to the buyers faster."
