donlombardo
If you could have any artist or band cover any other artist's song, which artist/band and song would you choose? Bonus question: why?
Sidney Crosley
I would love to see the song Grudge F### by the Scud Mountain Boys (late 90s alt country, with Joe Pernice of Pernice Brothers) covered by a neo-soul singer like Leon Bridges, D'Angelo, or Frank Ocean. AlexH.
I'd have David Bazan covering something by Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen gets a bad rap from alternative-minded people because he's a big establishment rock star with horns and keyboards, but so many of his songs have desolate, angry themes that Bazan could really access a new side of. He could channel some of this: into a song like this: Or something like this: into this: Endserenading and danthemjfan23
Bladewillisisdead
I would want Converge to cover Disintegration, so I'm pretty lucky.
Breezus
If Morrissey did a slow version of Have a Sad Cum by Death Grips, my life would be complete.
mameeshkamowskwoz
I want Primus to cover XTC's Complicated Game. They've already covered Scissor Man and Making Plans For Nigel from the same XTC album, Drums and Wires and I think it's a perfect fit. donlombardo
Sufjan Stevens doing a C&L-esque version of blink-182's Sometimes. Always thought that was one of their best, emotionally and lyrically, and very overlooked.

throughbeingcruel
I could rack my brain over this indefinitely because covers are my favorite thing about indie, punk, etc. bands. I've just always felt like they're a part of the punk culture. Anyway, here's a few I've thought of: TWIABP- Tilly & The Wall's Night of the Living Dead Capsize- any Translating the Name-era Saosin track or early Spencer-era Underoath Set Your Goals- Bane's Park St, or really anything from Don't Wait Up
Han Solo
I want to see some more metal bands do pop songs. Always feels kind of fun and light hearted.
boops_popmarket
I'd like to hear R.E.M. cover the entire Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me record.
paynegretzky
I'd love to hear someone current cover a few Eric's Trip tracks from Love Tara, or maybe View Master. Maybe Title Fight and Superheaven cover a song or two each. One that Jamie Rhoden sings and one that Jake Clarke sings. For example, on "Downswing" by Superheaven I get a major Rhoden vibe. Could bring something interesting to the guitar work for each band Edited May 25, 2016 by paynegretzky
