jhulud
I was going to post this on my music site/zine but everyone and their brother is acting a fool like TMZ, esp. them hacks at POZ, so I figured I'd open the discussion here on good ol' VC. DFHVN tweeted that a new LP is coming in 2015. Discuss.
StrangeTerrain
i saw that tweet. hoping the new album grabs me because for some reason sunbather didnt.

dethrock
Are we just supposed to discuss that a band, who releases albums, plans on releasing a new album? dreamover and Black Phillip
Derek™
Are we just supposed to discuss that a band, who releases albums, plans on releasing a new album? But next year! Discuss.
grizzlyfoz
Guessing From the Kettle Unto the Coil won't be featured. Think I saw somewhere that George said that wasn't necessarily an indication of where the band was headed. Regardless, would love a 7" press of it, maybe a black friday RSD release? Guest Secular Haze
Deathwish won't be putting it out. http://lambgoat.com/news/23518/Deafheaven-to-release-new-album-in-2015
amnstypls
Deathwish won't be putting it out. http://lambgoat.com/news/23518/Deafheaven-to-release-new-album-in-2015 Lol at that remark. Too big for Deathwish? That's fucking ridiculous. They'll probably put it out on Sargent House, which is even smaller. If Deathwish can support Touche, they can certainly handle another Deafheaven release. Hopefully it's a mutual agreement. I will support both the band and the label forever. radiatorhums
Deathwish won't be putting it out. http://lambgoat.com/news/23518/Deafheaven-to-release-new-album-in-2015 Kind of a bummer. I hope they end up on Relapse or some place similar in size/quality.
distinctlydustin
Fuck them being bigger than Deathwish. What the fuck?
Metal Mike
All I care about is that the album comes out, I get a copy and it works out for the band.
Bladew1ll1s1sdead
I don't give a shit about this band but they are not at all too big for Deathwish. Fuck this band and especially fuck that attitude. Fuck him as a person. Black Phillip and dethrock
aflycon
I'm real fucking mad about something that a band member said because it's absolutely inconceivable that there may be things beyond my knowledge which factored into their decision to leave the label that I like. aflycon
Did you even read what he said or just the thread here? The condescending way it was said is what gets me. Yeah, I read it. The likelihood of this band waking up one morning and saying, "Hey, I think we're just too big for this label now," and deciding to leave is very slim. What's much more likely is that many factors led to this (consider Deathwish's ability not only to distribute, but to advertise/manage a band like Deafheaven, who after Sunbather have become very popular) and both the band and label came to some agreeable terms concerning their departure. museummouth
The Deathwish comment rubs me the wrong way. My feelings for the band now shifted from love to kind of neutral.

aflycon
The only way I'd ever get into this band. I'm with you here. I can listen to Sunbather, but I can't like... listen to Sunbather, if that makes sense. I like the music, can't get past the vocals. I suppose you and I are the minority, though. topher
BuzzersonKillwell
I feel EXACTLY the same, I can listen to it but I can never really get into it. I saw them live and that was fun enough but felt the same way as the record, I just wished that dude would shut the fuck up. I'm not trying to knock them, more power to them and you guys that really like them, but it always surprised me how popular they were since I find it to be pretty abrasive. That said, I'll check out the new record for sure. topher and Youinreverse

I'll probably listen to the new record when it comes out next year, but... yeah, not expecting to be blown away. However, Deafheaven is probably the best of the VC hype bands, IMO.
