BuzzersonKillwell
I'm really sorry if anyone takes offense to the question on being able to afford the record. I meant it as an honest question, because it's probably the only real reason I could understand on someone hating the company. I absolutely agree they should stick to the price they set originally. That rubs me the wrong way as well. I think a lot more of the hate is based on this very shitty practice. Independent records stores are great and all but frankly, I'm for fewer that engage in this type of behavior. Their practice of selling readily attainable items at higher price point elicits a chuckle or eye roll from me, but I don't really have an issue with it. People can spend their discretionary income at their.... discretion. If having a purple record is worth $15 more to you, go nuts.

drlambert
I'll talk shit about pop-punk music all day long but Black Parade is actually a really good album. And for Newbury, $29.99 isn't a bad price for a double-LP.

darkforest71
PO'd the two MCR albums today. Came to about 67 bucks with tax and shipping. I pulled the trigger with Newbury because I've heard a lot of great stuff about their packaging/records arriving in perfect shape. Plus, the colors seem cool and TCFSW is gonna look good on opaque red. Cloudsbelow and drlambert

From what I'm hearing EVERYWHERE it is NOT a newbury exclusive, so with that being said you could buy both from Amazon with free shipping and save money

TheGhostOfRandySavage
I guess you guys should check out the MCR thread then. It's still not clear within that thread though. Travis says "Everyone is getting these colors. Hot Topic has the only exclusive." Newbury says, "These are exclusive to us."
drlambert
The MCR site says it's a Newbury Exclusive, Newbury says it's exclusive, I'm inclined to believe it's exclusive. And yeah, totally agree, TCFSW is perfect on solid red. The thing about vinyl is that it's a real work of art; I get that Newbury is generally overpriced but a collector's item is a collector's item. I make $9 an hour but if I fucking love the music and I decide it's worth it, it's totally worth it. But nobody should ever pay $45 for a Sublime album lol. psus2h and 213041284s
BuzzersonKillwell
Wait... what if that sublime record is a collectors item?
psus2h
If you look at the lowest prime price on amazon I guess the Newbury price is "a good deal" Edit: yeah, that's also Newbury. Disregard.
Dr.SteveZissou
Sublime is one of the best bands of the 90's but I agree it shouldn't be $45 for a white 2xLP. $30 i might bite...

Cloudsbelow
Coltrane&Ellington showed up (along with the king). Solid pressing and a good album. Feels a bit weird to have a jazz title on gimmicky coloured vinyl but whatever. I hate sublime, best band.. psht! worst band, tough to say.. important band? yes, unfortunately. They paved the way for a bunch of copy cat crappy reggae/ska/bs radio rock for years to come. agaetisbyrjun
