SpazzyMcGee
What Alex said, although they will likely not win me over.. And "None of us had any interest in doing 'Fill In The Blank' 2" said every band ever
booms528
The Rolling Stone article did make me slightly more okay with the idea of it... minus the U2 reference. If this sounds like Bob Dylan had a baby with post-2000 U2 then it will be the worst album of the year (and also sell a billion copies.) YouTwo
I'm going to reserve judgement until after I actually hear more than a 30 second instrumental clip.
futures
comparing anything to u2 is the worst idea ever. their marketing team clearly has no idea how to advertise a brand to new fan prospects.
YouTwo
Actually, I'm pretty sure a lot of people who are fans of Mumford & Sons are also fans of U2. Myself included. I mean.... it's cool to hate U2... yeah yeah that's what I meant.

I mean.... it's cool to hate U2... yeah yeah that's what I meant. Looking forward to this, really hope it doesnt sound anything like U2. I dig Mumford a good bit, but really dislike U2. But like with most bands that try to "evolve" but dont, I feel that Mumford should succeed in this though.
laralaurent
Yeah not THRILLED on that description but Sam Beam was able to incorporate electric despite his analogously ingrained acoustic sound. I love Mumford and Sons so I'll probably pick this up, but after a few singles are released.

nardes
First single will debut on Monday 3/9... I'd say watch for a leak this weekend russtcb
rcafilm
Was a little surprised at the announcement, but the teaser sounded okay. I do think there's a small possibility of it being an improvement... I remember early live videos of several of their songs from Babel sounded really great and had a "heavier" sound for lack of a better term. I recall being pretty disappointed when they showed up on the record thin and folksy as ever. So I feel like they have the capability to write this stuff. Maybe. But honest to God, who pays $31+ for a single LP preorder from the band when they get nothing out of it except for a fucking ticket pre-sale? Ridiculous. atticus
yea.. that price will hopefully be better elsewhere, if you check their site Sigh No More is $31 and Babel is $32.. those can both be found for under $
Skibum00
It's a Universal Music release so they will most likely press a billion of them, I'm willing to bet this is under $20 a month after initial release. I am definitely holding off till that happens.
colbourne25
Seriously I think a change up will be a good thing for the band. They copped a lot of crap after their second album for all of their songs sounding similar. Give it a chance, I bet it will be a hit if the song writing is anything like the first two albums
himynameisShane
I'm interested to see what this sounds like
russtcb
First single will debut on Monday 3/9... I'd say watch for a leak this weekend Thanks for the heads up. I'm definitely interesting in hearing the single.
mmhmm
With how many thousands of copies they pressed and sold for their first two albums, the price for this one will probably plummet to $15 (maybe less) later this year when the massive pressing they put out for this album takes up space on store shelves and in warehouses everywhere. It's a Universal Music release so they will most likely press a billion of them, I'm willing to bet this is under $20 a month after initial release. I am definitely holding off till that happens. Yaaaap.

aju2streets
Its not bad but just meh. Same formula they've been using just with electric instruments in place of their acoustic ones.
Skibum00
I don't mind that song at all, sounds pretty decent to me.

mrewest
Yeah that Coldplay description was accurate. Very lukewarm on that one. Hope the rest of the album is a lot better.
