natenomm
Any suggestions? Really want to take advantage of this sale. Should I just buy a debut carbon and buy everything else I need later? Should I buy a DC and some active speakers? Should I buy something else entirely? What's your current setup? My shipping was 7 dollars, including the turntable. So...Idk. Strange, mine was $5 for a turntable.
thepunkguy
I love how many people have bought turntables so far. they should have had this sale exclusively for this thread. I bought this one - http://www.insound.com/electronics/turntables/pro-ject-audio-debut-carbon-dc-esprit-sb-turntable.htmlwhite
robotfactory
They did reduce shipping. Yesterday shipping on a turntable was around $9, today it is $5. Also, when did Insound start collective tax in California? I haven't ordered anything from them in quite a while but I do not remember there being tax. Weird. natenomm
At60 (yikes) And some basic Sony speakers and receiver Yikes indeed. If you have the cheddar, I'd recommend shelling out for a new 'table. You can't really go wrong with a ProJect or a Rega.
dreamover
I'll be bummed when they eventually drop the discount to 50% and everything i wanted is still available.

That Fidlar for 12 bucks, why I was putting that off for so long. Not a great deal, but hey.

Sidney Crosley
Seems to have $8.50 shipping for a turntable internationally....seems a little suspicious. I'm a tad worried that it wouldn't go through. But if it does, even with the exchange rate, a pretty amazing price for a lot of these turntables... Just a word of advice for international folks, Insound does not put a shipping price paid on the package or invoice, so if it goes the courrier route (which a turntable would, I assume) you are on the hook for taxes for the item itself PLUS the courrier services ridiculous made up shipping costs. There is also a notice saying they won't ship turntables outside of North America. So I'm not sure the orders will go through for you. But I wrote to Insound arguing that their checkout said 'International Air' when they in fact sent it surface, and they refunded me more than half the cost of the tariffs (aka what the taxes would have actually been on UPS air). Not sure if I'll take the plunge, though it's very tempting!
TheGhostOfRandySavage
Didn't realize the difference between the debut carbons was the acrylic platter...almost wish I'd gone esprit!

xxsilence
That espirit at that price is a great deal. Between that, RP1 performance pack and MMF 5.1, there's some serious decisions for all of you buying a new table! I wonder how close these are coming to dealer cost, it has to be awful close. drummerboy032
I have a rega RP1.. Any recommended upgrades(for the RP1)? I'd like to take advantage of this sale but don't know what the best bang for my buck would be
zacooper
Shit, was going to buy an Espirit and now it's out of stock. I have a regular Carbon. Which speed box is the correct one? Any other upgrade suggestions?

The Music Hall Marimba speakers are a decent buy if you're looking for speakers though.
