rooks
He's saying this happens with literally every band in existence. They make/write more songs than get put on the album they release. Most don't make it past the demo stage. It's not like Warner Bros. or Chino or Deftones are withholding them. They didn't feel they were good enough or fit in to this album. *shrug* There are thousands of hours of music by every band I like that I'll never get to hear. daegor
5 that were supposed to make it to the final cut This is the part that's false. But whatever, I'm always interested in hearing demo songs. But they were probably never recorded, so we'll probably never hear them.
mrewest
I'm a bit nervous of the fact that the album is "fragmented", but being that it's Deftones, I'm sure it'll slay. I actually thought Koi No Yokan sounded a bit fragmented though, and that was part of why it didn't click with me as much, unlike Diamond Eyes. But I'm really excited overall for this album. Sounds like it'll be an entertaining listen. I like how real Chino keeps it when he speaks. Usually bands don't ever seem to admit what their least favorite song on an album is haha. Kanellos
This is the part that's false. I meant in context to the early reports. Let's get back on topic anyways. daegor
floyd_z
Found this today. Not sure how legit it is. It's just an instrumental. I'm thinking more than likely it's not, but figured I share anyway. An online shazam like service came up with nothing. It's pretty heavy, but some parts do sound like them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93vmPlkMSPk I guess if it gets taken down we'll know it's legit
dapeebs
Found the track times somewhere and I remember Xenon only being a 3 and some change minute song. So probably fake. I'd be pretty disappointed if they had a five minute song that was just instrumental.

I say FAKE!
highfives
Nothing about that sounds like the Deftones.
Le Gogh
Yeah I'm gonna call BS on that track too. Doesn't sound like Stephen's playing to me at all, and as andrewlucas said, the drums aren't your typical Deftones sound either. If I'm wrong I'll be skipping the track that's for sure. Not a fan of it.

Le Gogh
Here's the cover version of Bloody Cape that 2 of my friends recorded. It's a temporary upload because obviously I had no input on any of it. I'll take it down in a while. mrewest
I've noticed idiots on YouTube posting songs from albums not yet released as different songs. I've been suckered into listening to several of these before. So without even listening, I can tell you that's not Deftones.
Kanellos
Impericon (EU) now has a black variant up for preorder for €21.99 or $24.75. Doesn't specify if its part of the #'d limited edition black. http://www.impericon.com/en/deftones-gore-2-lp.html

Muppelope
Yeah, that instrumental sounds nothing like Deftones. But I do kinda like it.
Derek™
Gave it a listen expecting it would be cool since Bloody Cape is my favorite Deftones song. Wrong. Totally sucked ass. I recall a time where you were a serious asshole on the boards, but you mellowed out and contributed positively to the forums for a good while there. Your jokes used to reach beyond blatant trolling and unnecessary rudeness – I don't know if you lost a bet or if you're going through some shit at home, but I hope everything is cool in your personal life. I say that with sincerity. Eh; piss off, Korgull. Shouldn't you be making up more stories about geriatric men getting sucked off in brothels? vinyl addict, daegor, radiatorhums and 2 others
vinyl addict
I think he's too cool. I asked a question in another thread and all I got for a response from him was "yawn". Why bother responding?
Kanellos
Good interview with Steph on the new record and the sound diversity clash. That's not saying that you're going to leave the Deftones, is it?"I would never leave the band that I started but the band started leaving me, I can't control that." Also Warner Switz put up tracklist times: http://www.warnermusic.ch/catalogue_detail-n28-i93624926481-sD.html

Also Warner Switz put up tracklist times: http://www.warnermusic.ch/catalogue_detail-n28-i93624926481-sD.html It's funny ever since White Pony came out I remember reading interviews with these guys saying how Chino wants to push the band into new territory and become dreamier and less heavy, and Steph just wants bang out brutal guitar riffs, and how they clashed. I'm a bit surprised that this tension is still present after almost 20 years. Nothing against Steph, but I would of hoped that after all this time he would of grown and progressed with the band and be willing to try new and different things, instead of wanting to play metal riffs all the time. Muppelope
I'm kinda glad he doesn't though, because that's a huge part of the Deftones sound. They play these dark, brutal riffs and somehow still manage that dreamy sound. It's an amazing juxtaposition that really works in their favor imo.
