BuzzersonKillwell
yes. What Ian said. He is almost certainly alive.
mrewest
he's probably still alive, ala how Micchone survived with the walkers by covering herself in blood. To me it just doesnt make sense. The walkers just stop eating once they've had their fill with the top body and leave the one below it alone? makes less sense then a zombie apocalypse to begin with, lol. I totally had this same question. When do they quit eating? And why do guts camoflauge the living if that's what the zombies eat? Something about the "freshness" of the guts? Something about the "freshness" of the guts? If I remember the Zombie Survival Guide I read in highschool correctly, zombies never stop eating, even if their stomachs explode they continue to devour until their "meal" is gone. There was nobody left outside the walls besides Rick and Glenn correct? I can't imagine anyone would emerge to rescue either. That would also be a gross cop out. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if they take a dark nosedive and off them both. This show is the strongest it's ever been, they could strike while the iron is hot and completely disassemble the original cast.

I guess the only way the Glenn theory can work is if there is another loud noise to drive the heard away then. Same way Rick could be saved. Need another horn or explosion to drive them toward it. BuzzersonKillwell
Rick's gunshots could pull them away maybe, or just something random. There is a pretty long track record of plot magic occurring as needed in this show so it doesn't even really need to be plausible.
Team Avatar
This was spoiled for me like 100x through every single social media and ugh! My fault, but anyways.. I have some theories in my head.
dapeebs
No way they could kill off Rick. And even though I don't want Glenn to be gone, we have to wait for confirmation. They're not gonna know how or if Glenn died because no one knew where he was. That's my hope that he's still alive.
stranaspank
Yeah, Glenn would have to be a season finale death. Not episode 3. He'll show up back at Alexandria covered in blood, he cries, Maggie cries, then I cry because Maggie cried.
hippielauryn
I honestly have no idea if Glenn is actually dead or not. I feel like it could easily go either way.
himynameisShane
I'm convinced he's not. From the moment I saw it it didn't make sense.
jhulud
A pretty good breakdown on theories on Glenn not being dead. (I've never read the comics, though.) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/evidence-that-walking-dead-character-isnt-actually-dead_562cf355e4b0ec0a3894be77?ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000063
dapeebs
Yeah that was the biggest thing. No way if he died they wouldnt have put him in the In Memoriam section. If that was Jesus in the still, I'm going to be so excited.
Breezus
So apparently, this shows that Glenn somehow got inside the dumpster and the walkers were only ripping Nicholas apart. Fuck everything if that's not true.
himynameisShane
I've thought Glenn was gonna die since last season, this isn't how he'll go. I don't think he got in the dumpster, I think he got under it.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hes either still alive or theyre waiting for zombie glenn to show up
himynameisShane
Hes either still alive or theyre waiting for zombie glenn to show up Yeah I could see the whole Zombie Glenn thing, runs into Maggie, Maggie has to kill him... but I really don't think they will go that route. ptothedo
Good interview with Greg Nicotero http://www.ew.com/article/2015/10/26/walking-dead-thank-you-greg-nicotero-death
IanRees
I think if the zombies were to get him that they would just devour him.

circuit bored records
Honestly if glenn isn't dead I'll be pretty pissed. Don't get me wrong, I obviously don't want him dead in the long run but to put in such a lame red herring into an early episode is just such cheap writing. Imagine if he comes back as described above and is revealed to be alive, there is no way to show that without being above and beyond cheesy. I thought the episode was handled well and had the effect on the audience it was supposed to, it was a huge reminder of how much these characters mean to us and how much we connect with them and produced an exteme emotional reaction. To pull that carpet out from under our feet with an "actually he survived!" moment would just be so totally elementary and below this show. My two cents. But it never really felt like he died. The story would be left too wide open. Unless they want to pull another Sophia kind of thing, but that would be just as cheap. NewOldStock
Think that I'll have to watch that sequence again later. I don't want it to be true - but it'll be a strange comeback from that.
himynameisShane
The whole thing was ruined for me too. I made the mistake getting on Facebook before watching it. Maybe thats part of my opinion. But when I watched it, I didn't get the OMG he's dead feeling. BUT I see how others may have.
