I feel like unlike Pokemon/baseball cards and Beanie Babies I don't think the burst will be as dramatic(unless we are talking about the literal thousands of Blink 182 records) because with the music there is a use for it, where people simply outgrew Pokemon(and tons of cards were made flooding the market). I remember back in the day when I used to buy Pokemon and Yugioh cards. I wasted hundreds of mine and my parents money on those, only to be thrown away later. As far as profit margins on a particular record, that will come back to what said label is seeking to achieve in accordance with their business model - obviously some like No Idea will come in at the lower end, others like SRC, MoV will be at the higher end. At the end of the day, a lot of it goes back to the ethics of the company. If you don't like what a particular company is doing, don't buy their product, but it doesn't help anyone to bitch endlessly about SRC charging an excessive price for a JEW reissue and then going and buying it anyway. In doing so, you're only sending the message to the label (and the industry) that it's okay to charge those kinds of prices, and they will continue to push prices higher until you vote with your wallet.
