mdussack
Am I missing a way to tell the side labels apart? I'm just going by the deadwax. Sides A and D have text on the center label. Easiest way to tell
Freki
No surface noise or popping at any point? I was under the impression that at least two people had some noise at the same isolated spot. (Beginning of side B, if I recall.) Other than that, everyone is saying their copies sound amazing. I've got heavy static at the beginning of side B. Can't be coincidence. (And it has been VPI-cleaned.) Pressing # is ~2300.
gmoney
Bought mine today locally, and had to agree not to return it due to a sell-hold on this item.
WAXXX
heavy static on sides A, B and D for me. way less noticeable on side C, but it's there. 3047/4000. listening to the digital files now because i got my hopes up and the vinyl is too distracting. itsgoodtobefree
Well with my luck I know I'm going to get a bad copy. At least there's always the box set to look forward to :-P
bossdj26
I have a ~200/4000 copy with no surface noise. Plates must have worn out if the numbers actually indicate pressing order.

helsabot
The UK issue from earlier this year also had some issues. Bummer. Mine sounds perfectly fine, no surface noise at all....
YouTwo
I don't know much about how pressing plants work, but since the number is on the sleeve it might not represent what order the actual discs were pressed in. Mine is #179, I only listened to it once so far but didn't notice any issues.
lilmuse
355/4000 here and nothing noticeable. Purchased mine via Bullmoose. Maybe that's the difference? It's my first Sigur Ros purchase and I'm pretty pleased with the whole thing.

Cloudsbelow
The records are the most consistent part of all these experiences... Could come down to the other variables (table, cart, stylus, dust, etc etc) shut up vic, you're drunk

Cloudsbelow
The second track leads (side 1 tho) with an intentional mess of noise that takes about a minute to fully fade. I'm wondering if this was the "surface noise". Mine is sounding great. A few minor dust/static crackles. Edit: #150/4000, for those who have number theories i have number 106 and its a clean play so far. also crystal clear visually.. no streaks of the previous runs colours. what does it all mean?!? (nothing)

(nothing) Mine definitely has a yellow tint, but no "streaks". They probably get clearer the later in the run that they were pressed. Stravinsky
I currently have the 180 gram press from a few months ago and have an opportunity to pickup this clear version...for those that own both, do you prefer the clear?
