I was about to post about the New Spectral Voice/ Undergang split from Dark Descent, which I grabbed earlier while feeding my 2-year-old lunch with the other hand, but apparently it's already sold out, at least on Bandcamp and on darkdescent.com. They tend to repress liberally though, so if you missed it you'll probably get another opportunity eventually. SPR might get shit for their prices, but in the past 2-3 years, they've released Psyopus, Into The Moat, Glass Casket, Heavy Heavy Low Low, Arsonists Get All The Girls, #12, etc. I'll gladly pay the premium so this label continues doing what they're doing - releasing the music I love on vinyl. Not to mention - some of these bands are getting back together and releasing NEW FUCKING MUSIC. For now I'm going to continue to jam the new ep on spotify. It feels like they picked up right where they left off. Personally I think the whole wax mage culture is toxic as fuck. That said, labels like Silent Pendulum and Wax Vessel typically offset the cost of making/selling wax mages (which you normally see sold for $100+ from other labels) by charging the same, or close to the same amount for each variant across the board. I’m the old timer that just wants a plain and simple black record with zero aesthetically pleasing frills so I normally just pass on records that are marketed as “super duper exclusive” unless it’s a grail or something I can justify splurging on. I pretty much asked as much if there was any intention of releasing these records on standard gram black and didn't receive a response as expected. Oh well.
