This was before smartphones too, so I had to just stand there (it was also before I started drinking). It's awkward between bands but that's about it. Grab a drink at the bar and fuck around on your phone. Talk to the band at their merch table. Get them to sign the tour press and then $$$eBay$$$ that shit. It won't be so bad. There's a Zen to doing typically social activities by yourself. I strongly believe it's healthy to do something like taking yourself out to dinner and a movie once in awhile. Same. I used to hit up bars and random places by myself all the time and I always enjoyed myself, so I'm pretty excited to do this solo. It's just going to blow that my phone will be my default entertainment in between sets because I'm 99% terrified to talk to people, and I won't be indulging in any liquid courage this time around. Fuck that, just let me go alone, mosh, and have fun. First show I took him to was Sounds of the Underground 2007 so he got exposued to A LOT. The first band was This is Hell, so his reaction to me moshing, pushing people or of my way, and climbing on people to get to the mic was hilarious. To this day he still brings it up. I just let the crowd take him away during The Acacia Strain. Then I crowd dived while crowd surfing and landed on him. My girlfriend can hold down a pit like no one's business.
