Yeah, I knew you'd understand. This will be a 'how I'm feeling day of' type of show.

I've been having more and more of those.  So much driving for so many shows can be manageable when I have a friend or two that are willing to make the haul and break up the drive time... but if I'm going solo and have work the next morning, I find that it's seldom worth it.  I'll probably try to catch ITTCT if it plays out with the scheduling and what not but I doubt I'll pull a Gumbo over it.

I usually follow this protocol, but I always end up telling myself "You'll be glad you went", even when I realllllllly don't want to make a drive.  Happened with Shy, Low....  happened with my friend's band Thursday night in Oneonta....

But it's so weird that they're playing fucking Kingston, NY.  There is NOTHING there.  I will be shocked if more than 10 people come out.  They must have like an old friend down there or something.

But if we're talking about crazy driving.....  that's what I'm going to be doing for at least the Sunlight Ascending show.  Albany -> Detroit, solo.  It's going to suck ass, but I'll get to see them :D

Yeah. If I can get someone to go with me it's a lot easier to pull the trigger. Doing all that driving alone in one day for a show is kind of rough. A lot easier when you have a buddy and the negatives kind of go out the window.

Will check out that stuff...    been listening to LOTS of Envy lately.

I think so far, my favorite is still A Dead Sinking Story.  Been trying to get into Recitation, and it's just not happening.  It's not bad music, but that album doesn't have quite the dreamy melodic aspect that I like so much about their sound when they do it.  Been listening to "Insomniac Doze" and "Athiests Cornea" a lot lately on Bandcamp.  The split with Thursday is also really good, I'm definitely going to pick that up.

Temporary Residence gave me a 20% off coupon to use with my Tarentel order.  THAT album sounds fucking incredible, I'm surprised more people aren't talking about them.  Utterly brilliant music, unlike anything else I've ever heard.

Got this yesterday.  Glad it came a little early so I can give it a few listens before they are in town Saturday.  Really digging Descent of Night Bison.

Album is streaming today here: http://www.avclub.com/article/stream-delayer-debut-album-post-metal-supergroup-r-238141

Also, anyone checked out Moving Structures?  Their first full-length came out last week, produces by Aaron Harris (Isis/Palms drummer).  I like what I hear so far.

My PG.Lost package came today....... and the records were shipped loose!  Naked!  I had asked Pelagic to send them outside of the jacket to avoid the seamsplits that would happen, but evidently he took that to mean outside of the inner sleeve as well!  They all look fine, but damn.  Not what you want to see when you open a package containing super limited, sold-out records that came from across the ocean!  The package thankfully was quite sandwiched together, each record on top of it's paper sleeve.  Unlike when I bought "A Determinism of Morality" and the guy put both records in the middle of the gatefold, just loose on top of each other!   ::facepalm::   How do people still not understand this?  Haha

The shirt looks sweet too.  I'll post pictures later!

Neither are sold out. But maybe if you're going to make silly requests you should be very thorough with it so they do it exactly how you request. Or you could just let them ship it the way they do everything. Just let labels send sealed LPs. A little seem damage on the inner sleeves is so trivial. I rather that than friction from them having room to slide around in the mailer. Maybe just don't order records anymore since no one can ship them correctly. ; )

I always ask labels/sellers specifically:please ship records inside inner sleeve, but outside of cover if possible. If you say outside of sleeve they're going to ship them naked.

Today I've ran into the last Cataya album which was released in november '15 but will be out on vinyl july 15th.

Wow, the four songs really impressed me. I highly recommend a listen to everyone. Also, 8 different super limited variants are planned, 7 are available for preorders here: http://records.kollektif.eu/sludgedoom/50646-cataya-sukzession-lp-col-download.html

I pulled the trigger and ordered 3 of them.

Full streaming of the album here: https://momentofcollapserecords.bandcamp.com/album/sukzession

FFO: Cult of luna, YONL, ITTCT, Kokomo, GY!BE, EITS

Maybe this could deserve its own thread..

EDIT: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/121456-po-now-cataya-sukzession-lp-moment-of-collapse-recs/

What an odd pressing with those weird low numbered variants. I'll give it a listen after work.

Phew, I just drove by a poster that told me Kokomo are playing in my city this Saturday ,in a tiny DIY-place with a max. capacity of 50 and a pay-what-you-want kind of system. It's a 5 min bike ride from my work place, so that will be a nice way to call it a day.
