Invite only = exclusive, better act now, fake time crunch

That Forbes article is garbage and is filled with generic sentences and phrases that mean nothing. "A great way to listen to all the music you want on the best format available when you want it most for the best price just like your momma used to make in the nick of time every time you need it."

Remember, they did hire a PR company to do this for them.. I picture a boardroom of executives saying Executive A -"we need more presence on youtube!, let's hire a fat guy with scant facial hair and get him to say he got something he really wanted on his first try, people will sign up then". Executive B - "He should be wearing headphones all thew time, headphones are hip. The youth will relate to that".

^ Left a comment with a link to the Stereogum article but it was not approved/made public by the author.

^ It looks like the author approved at least 1 critical comment of VNYL but it has since been taken down.  In this case, it's probably more to do with the fact that this site exists to make affiliate commissions off people who sign up for the services they write about than any allegiance to VNYL.  Still, hurts a little bit to read people talk about signing up naively.
