deafening
I second all this Sufjan love. I needed this thread. This has been my laziest year for music yet, and my busiest year for literally every thing else.
hzielaskowski
I see a lot of folks here place 2014 releases in summary. In that case I would like to amend my list with following record: Manhunt "S/T" - it was release in Dec 2014 but I found it in 2015. Killer record, probably the best powerviolence LP I've listen in years.

OU818
year so far: Marilyn Manson- The Pale Emperor 2814- (Japanese goes here) Bjork- Vulnicura Lightning Bolt- Fantasy Empire Death Grips- Jenny Death Marriages- Salome Royal Thunder- Crooked Doors Faith No More- Sol Invictus Mutoid Man- Bleeder Team Sleep- Woodstock Sessions Chelsea Wolfe- Abyss wanted to like the new Modest Mouse, heartbroken by the sick joke of a Muse album, and generally bored of most up and coming bands like Viet Cong. Kendrick Lamar's album has 3 good songs which lose a ton of steam because of the album's "social" baggage. In my circles of friends at least. Really excited for some potentially upcoming winter records from Red Fang, Baroness, Indian Handcrafts, and a few more.
jlobban
i admittedly haven't been listening to a ton of new music lately, i felt like i was neglecting so much of my "older" library, but of the stuff i have listened to: Rosetta - Quintessential Ephemera Phantom Winter - CVLT Deathrite - Revelation of Chaos looking forward to new Cobalt, Traitor Crucifix, and maybe Deafheaven and friggin' Motorhead has a new record coming out, so there's obviously that. Jamie xx - In Colour 5. Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell 6. The Weeknd - Beauty Behind the Madness 7. New Order - Music Complete 8. Miguel - Wildheart 9. Grimes - Art Angels 10. Kamasi Washington - The Epic
distinctlydustin
Drug Church has been a favorite as of late. Beach Slang is moving up. Not to sound cool, but I really do love the new Deafheaven. SKM, to me, released a good one. I also love Out West by the Coal Creek Boys. Oh, El Vy is super! TheGhostOfRandySavage
No real order Beach House - Thank Your Lucky Stars BtS - Untethered Moon Goya/Wounded Giant - Split Sufjan Stevens - Carrie and Lowell Purity Ring - Another Eternity Czarface - Every Hero Needs a Villain Father John Misty - I Love You, Honeybear Drake - If You're Reading This... Spelljammer - Ancient of Days Maritime - Magnetic Bodies/Maps of Bones Fully expect Grimes to work her way in there and probably knock out Maritime or Beach House Monolord's new album is really good too, but I haven't spent enough time with it. Still somehow haven't listened to the new GYBE... Windhand's new album should probably be in there too, but I haven't listened to it enough either.
