Sad Heart
Yep. Mr. Grohl can correct me if I am wrong but 99% sure that's where I see it at. Yup, it's at Music Millennium.
Mars
If anyone is in the Austin area: Sad but true, Sunday will be the final day of our BLUEPRINTS Paramount Records focused pop-up shop in Austin, TX. We have loved our temporary second home in Billy Reid's storefront, and it's been our pleasure to stretch our eagle wings into the Lone Star State. To go out with a bit of a bang, we'll have a handful of limited edition records available each day from tomorrow to Sunday. THURSDAY The Dead Weather Live Black & Blue LP (never commercially available outside of the Vault) + The Dough Rollers “Little Lily” tricolor 7" - FRIDAY Quintron & Miss Pussycat Live Black & Blue LP and The White Stripes “Lord, Send Me An Angel” tricolor 7" - SATURDAY The Great Gatsby Soundtrack Limited Edition Gold and Platinum Double LP (first commercially available metallized records ever!) and Karen Elson “Milk & Honey” 7" on Honey Yellow vinyl - SUNDAY Flat Duo Jets split-color Go Go Harlem Baby LP and Jack White “Would You Fight For My Love?” tricolor 7" We will be doing our drawing for the winner of Volume 1 of The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records on Sunday as well, so if you haven't stopped in the store, entering the drawing now adds to the list of reasons why you should. The rest of the reasons? Well, we don't know... How about Third Man Records vinyl, merchandise and novelties (zippos! shot glasses! guitar straps and picks!)? How about spending time immersing yourself in the catalog of Paramount Records, which boasts one of the greatest musical rosters ever assembled under one roof? Maybe even taking one home to explore on your own... you'll be an expert on American music in no time. How about taking a load off and kicking back with a pair of headphones and some of our best releases? We could go on... Either way, we look forward to seeing you in our final days in Austin. Blueprints is located at 1122 West 6th Street in Billy Reid’s gallery space, and is open from 11 - 7 Thursday through Saturday and 12 - 6 on Sunday. Would love to get my hands on that Dead Weather live black and Blue or the Jack White tricolor if someone is going. . .long shot, I know, but I have a few things to trade or would try to otherwise make it worth your time. BuzzersonKillwell
A doubt a members with a low post count and little feedback are going to curry much favor but I've have people get me 1 per person, event exclusive TMR and Mondo shit on more than one occasion. It isn't as impossible as you like to pretend it is. Mars

stl_ben
Its not impossible at all. I often have friends get me things like this at places. But asking a friend (privately) is much different than blindly asking strangers on message boards. (if you 108 posts, most likely people here are strangers, if you have over 6,000 there is a good chance you know folks)

I may be largely a stranger, but I did introduce myself. We all start somewhere ,right? I've been slowly posting, when and where it's relevant. I have made a few purchases/trades to start building up my feedback (even offered to help out with a few RSD things). I haven't made any unneeded threads or otherwise acted like a noob to get known for the wrong reasons, but I am also not posting a bunch of BS just to pad my post count. I presented some information and added a request (mostly joking but part hopeful) just on the off-chance that it could happen. Even if the answer is probably no, you can't get anything if you don't ask for it, eh? Good luck with that mortgage payment, btw. ksleap
I've been here for years. I am on here everyday. Most days i am on here every hour. I read everything, even things I'm not interested in. I never post and i don't think there's anything wrong with that. There's enough stupid opinions on this site. You don't need mine. If I can help someone I would. I don't judge people on how many posts they have. But i do judge them on the useless stuff they post. Keep your nose clean and there's plenty of nice people that will help you out on here. No one knows me but they have still helped me out. BobbyHill, RowBearToe, clerk3745 and 2 others

apirk
The only time I would consider post count it is in helping out someone scoring something. If someone has a bunch of posts they are a member of this community more and you know if they are a good person, a fan who will actually play the record or you know if they are an asshole who just wants you to pick them up a $25 record so they can turn around and put it on eBay for $100. stl_ben
stl_ben
Excellent post. I can't tell you how many times I see these "hipper than thou" posts and it's just irritating. Who gives a shit about a post count? It's not about the number. I'm just saying someone who has been more active is more likely to have made friends here who would help them out. If you are friends with someone you are more likely to go out of your way to help them out. If it's a total stranger, most people aren't going to drive out of their way to buy a record that costs $20 and sells for $300.

I guess I just file a lot of those posts under "It never hurts to ask", ya know? More often than not, I see so many innocent posts being met with outright hostility and it just gets old. I'm not saying you were being hostile, I'm just saying I get where the user was coming from on it. Oilerguy and webdoggy

Most of the people who seem to care are the people who have been here for like a year yet have thousands of posts because they post needless stuff in every thread. The small talk thread has gotten to people's heads. stl_ben, BobbyHill and vinyl addict
stl_ben
So just an update for anyone thinking about going. They have had 10 of the special releases today and yesterday. Evidently the line was more than 10 long at 7am (they go on sale at 10am.) Tomorrow may be a little easier to get, but I would expect the line to start before 5 on Sunday. fondfarewell
I think TMR even said at some point that the metallized Gatsby was intended primarily as an objet d'art, and that you probably shouldn't play it unless you want to kill your stylus.
