thesecrets0308
Am I the only one that doesn't think this new album is really that good? It's not the most horrible thing I've ever heard but i don't think it's nearly as good as EYEWTKAS and Worship. Maybe my ears are just getting old... Group Buy Guy
I know this is old news to most but I just heard that Billy from DEP played drums on this record. I'm officially interested now. Promoted from easy pass to possible pass. KingTacoMunster

Some good parts but the individual parts dont equal a great album to me.

There are no catchy moments on this album, so nothing really sticks in my head. In saying that, for some reason I keep wanting to listen to it. I seriously think I won't be able to decide whether I actually like it or not until I go through it about 10 times. I don't think I've ever been so unopinionated on an album in my life lol. pepperonigin
thesecrets0308
i've listened to it twice back to back today. it just seems like even when they're trying to bring the energy, it's not the same energy from the first two albums. just feel like they had their time and that time has now passed, whether it's me or them, not sure which. meh... oh well. glad a lot of others are digging it. youspinmeround
Growing up on li/NYC, I saw, this band so many times. From early days with kiss kiss ep on shows with silent majority, indecision, box, milhouse, kill your idols, inside to scoring the opening slot of leg 1 on white pony tour when eyewtks came out to snocore with sparta. I always valued that they were different than most bands they played with. Daryl vocal styling always reminded me if Mike Patton or HR fronted a band on discord. With that said and my changing musical tastes in the last 20 years since I cherished this band, this album is beyond forgettable. Listened twice and struggled to finish it both times Group Buy Guy
tetsuodaironman
This album gapes. Rated-R material. Masterful. Matrixy, as well. KingTacoMunster
SaviorSelf
Man this album rips IMO. Some of the phrases remind me of Dillinger Escape Plan. They seemed to incorporate all their influences/styles into one record. Manny kills the bass throughout the album as well. Yeah the mix could have definitely been more vocal friendly but I guarantee this is how they wanted it to sound.

V3XED
Yeah honestly didn't really have any expectations going into it... That being said, I think its a solid album, but after my 3rd listen there are a few skippable tracks. I also would agree with others here on the mix, not my favorite. I would have preferred brighter vocals. But, I am sure that it was a concious decision on their part. But certainly gives it a different feel than their past work. Still keepin my eyes peeled for wax too.
Daiei
Guys FYI, drums were done by DEP drummer Billy Rymer.
Sanspants
I'm really liking it. it's basically a Beck/Daryl project with Beck writing the drum parts. I don't think it suffers the same way the new Quicksand did without Tom, but I think Todd playing on this would have given it more of the sound that would have been expected for their W&T follow up. pepperonigin
I like it too, definitely a grower and some songs are really starting to stick with me. I have the same assessment of someone else that commented above - it's not entirely grabbing me yet but I'm still compelled to listen. That's usually a good sign for me. tuckersucks
Grew up seeing these guys in basements and tiny clubs in LI before moving west. Really think this holds its own. Solid front to back. TheComebackKid
Not sure if anyone posted this but on Discogs there is a 10 × Flexi-Disc, 7", 33 ⅓ RPM, Single Sided, Album, Picture Disc release of the album. Not sure why this and not a standard vinyl release. https://www.discogs.com/Glassjaw-Material-Control/release/11238322 Edited December 6, 2017 by TheComebackKid
