  1. I think I’m going to uphold my tradition of not listening to the actual tracks, especially so far in advance of a release date (which we don’t even have yet). I do like to go into the new records 95% blind, I think that’s the most fun and rewarding. Way too many horror stories from people binging bootlegs for months and then feeling underwhelmed that there’s “not enough new material” when the album drops, or that the songs and their production just don’t “feel the same”. (Which, I mean… yeah.) I was able to whet my appetite with some very promising clips from the new songs last night, and that’s more than enough to keep new Godspeed atop my list of most-anticipated music. To each their own though.

  2. I first heard Dreamhouse because the guy who runs Dark Descent Records (home of Spectral Voice, Blood Incantation, and other OSDM revival stuff that rules) was posting something about it, and all of the trv3 kvlt kydz were losing their fucking minds over this band not being "real metal" in the comments. I want to say it was a Pitchfork article, I'm not even sure if the whole album had come out yet. But I 1000% remember exactly where i was and what i was doing when I heard that first major chord come in under the blastbeats, and i was like "What the FUCK is this!!!!!" I was hooked instantly. Fuck the trends. Fuck the trv3 kvlt losers. I still love Darkthrone and Emperor and Entombed and I love Deafheaven and Phish and the Grateful Dead too. Fuck all of the boundaries and rules. Music rules.

  4. They will all be back up before the record comes out. She does it every time with the limited covers and editions

  5. Manuscript the timer was ONLY for the Deluxe Edition cd which was limited only. The Bolter & The Albatross for vinyl, cd, deluxe cd & cassette were all limited for 72 hrs as well. The Manuscript vinyl, standard cd and tape cassette is the only versions not limited. This was the same as how 1989 TV went on her store.

  6. I've been doing that lately with any show I want to see - find someone desperate to dump tickets

  7. Having no clue GYBE were prepping a new album and DMST being one of my all-time favorite bands, this is the greatest thing ever to read on a Monday morning. I'm going to try to hold off on listening to any live clips for now, but I'm hyped!

  8. Signals Midwest and ANORAK have a split 7" (have no idea where you'd get a copy) out to promote their tour in Japan, and hot damn these songs rip! Signals Midwest really goes the extra mile here. I've always enjoyed their more straight forward/high energy sound in this scene, but this single definitely shows off the more creative side of their song writing. If anything this feels closer to a Dikembe song but without all the sappy glum despair they can't seem to get away from (with the exception of Hail Something, which is my favorite release of their's but it doesn't get much love).

  9. New Whitelands album is fantastic. I think all variants other than the UK blue variant are gone but worth listening to

  11. Love this band, sad horn post-rock bliss. New A Burial At Sea. Small vinyl run on Pelagic. https://aburialatsea.bandcamp.com/album/close-to-home https://pelagic-records.com/product/a-burial-at-sea-close-to-home-lp/

  12. 2 new tracks debuted tonight. Lines up with a Belgian article that recently mentioned a new album in September. The video clips I heard were glorious… but I also say this as someone who’s really happy with their last album, and isn’t even remotely tired of them covering the same ground they do so well. Bits of the percussion and flow at a few parts were giving me major DMST vibes. Which is a good thing.

  14. Ticket prices were worse than the album price. Over $900 a seat is crazy and that's face value.

  15. Wow. Tried to get tickets and was just nosebleeds for $200. Anything decent was $600+. Geez.

  16. I really disliked TS until Folklore. That album really changed my opinion. This is nothing new for me. My old ass bought the Physical album by Olivia Newton-John when it first came out. I listened to that right along with my copy of Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables. Have never given a fuck about what genre I was supposed to like.

  17. Duuuuuuuuude... The non-stop whining about the tour dates and prices and process and lottery for 10C makes it clear that basic reading comprehension is severely lacking for a lot of folks there.
