jaedong Posted June 20, 2014 Share Posted June 20, 2014 criticisms are spot on, it did sound kind of cut and paste, but all the parts were pretty cool, could be a cool opening track. wouldn't bum me out too much to see the band change up their sound, i loved their full length but i think they are one of the bands that could most benefit from trying to push their sound towards something more original and distinct. silly stuff to say, but i think this band has even more potential than what they've put out, and the last record was definitely grasping at it but just wasn't quite in the realm of being a classic, which hopefully they have in them. That's where I always thought they held the most promise, when I figured they'd eventually learn to take their disjointed parts and make more cohesive songs. There are cool ideas floating around, but it's so disjointed. And I don't mean like a spazzy power violence band or even like ctts's first album. That's really where it loses me as far as critique goes. But then again, who am I to say. If the band likes it, likes playing it, and people like this direction, I'm not going to piss all over it.
