Shinji
Yeah, usually when you give them a good wet clean they're good, unfortunately I won't be able to for about another week.
TheGhostOfRandySavage
does 'haze' vinyl usually have surface noise? I have a couple haze variants (have a nice life ox blood) and whenever I take it out of the sleeve, it sounds like i'm scraping the record against sand. They usually need a good cleaning. The Doctor
I'm on side B of the colored Long Drive now. Didn't notice excess dirt and my brush didn't pick anything visible up, weird. Anyways, it's sounded great so far other than a bit of noise on Custom Concern. I'll check back later with my impressions of both. Oh, mine's the black version. Sorry, should've specified. zdkaiser
Hm, interesting. I've only listened to This is a long drive... and I was coming here to say that it was really dirty right out of the package, and even after cleaning sounded a little noisy...Hopefully the others sound better. Yeah, my LCW and Long Drive from Fat Possum had a lot of paper dust on them. I did a wet wash, and they sound pretty good. The pressing is excellent: thick black vinyl that is flat as a pancake. Also the 7 inches from Fat Possum are black. No colored vinyl, like the GP pre-orders. Boo. And I might add, the 7 inches are super lightweight and flimsy. I haven't listened yet though. YouLoveHisWife
After seeing how tight that Haze came out I called the Newbury Comics in Braintree when I got out of work and they had one copy left. The dude I talked to said he'd hold it for about an hour for me, I was there within 15 mins, haha.
drownmeinestrogen
My LCW came in today and it sounds amazing. Just unbelievably happy to finally own this album.
JoToRoBo
I cancelled my Amazon order because shit, I work at a record store, I can get them to order it. Distributor has it on backorder.
Fowty Dollaz
So, between life and car accidents, I haven't been able to listen to either until now. First 7" was rad, and I definitely heard some lyrics that would later be used. Side A of Long Drive literally makes me want to erupt from my man-fountain. So perfect. Ugh. I'm so glad this happened. Thanks to all of you for sharing this experience. It's been great. I can die happy now (after I finish up Long Drive, Too Many Fiestas, and LCW). mcpherson123
Is there some secret to getting media mail on Fat Possum's store or am I stuck paying $8.15 to ship two 2XLP's?

Also, shame about the flimsiness. Hopefully when they get here they still sound good.
zdkaiser
They sound good. no worries in that department
duckydan
i did the same yesterday. got shipping today, but says it shipped from Michigan, not SF. we will see i guess. I got shipping confirmation yesterday as well, about two hours after I ordered. Also coming from Michigan (which makes sense I think since that's closer to Toronto). Really hoping for that color variant.
fondfarewell
FWIW I e-mailed GP (via Whiplash Merch) and they confirmed they still have the colored 7"s. Not sure why they aren't promoting as such on the site. CVHX

fondfarewell
So my Euro "Long Drive" arrived. It is a black and silver haze. Basically the same as the Newbury versions, but black instead of blue. natenomm, davepriz, CVHX and 1 other
CVHX
So my Euro "Long Drive" arrived. It is a black and silver haze. Basically the same as the Newbury versions, but black instead of blue. both look awesome! but to nitpick, wish the blue was closer to the cover artwork. nevertheless, they look sick! natenomm
Yeah, the black with the navy blue label is a little weird, but it still looks pretty Sicknasty™.
Shelby
both look awesome! but to nitpick, wish the blue was closer to the cover artwork. nevertheless, they look sick! The dust sleeves are darker than the cover, it's actually pretty close
downisthenewup87
How do the Banquet variants sound? Contemplating a long distance order even though I would feel guilty about canceling on my local shop and can't really justify spending the extra cash.... Other option might be having a friend in Boston pick up a Newbury in store. Are people with the Newbury TIALD happy with their purchase? Also, anybody know the #pressed on the Banquet? (sorry for all the questions).
