JohnnyVinyls
I've got some unopened vinyl I was thinking of selling off. No idea what variants they are, and discogs says all the barcodes are the same. Should I open them to check? or sell unopened? Thanks! chriswamsley
most people will consider them "sealed" if you just split the seran wrap on the open side and check color
kjkenney
depending on the variant you may get more for the record, rather than the thought of it being sealed. People always post the whole 'only opened to verify color' thing as well which still allows potential buyers to know its at least unplayed. its up to you, but thats my 2 cents! somber_silt and moonbeams

noname
if you collect a "sealed" variant LP, and it's really black, but you never open to check, do you have a variant or a black? DukeOfTheEast

cbbrew22
I think in most cases you will get the same amount of money for something that is sealed vs. not sealed if it's only opened to verify color. If it is a super rare and valuable release, yes sealed will net you some more dough. chriswamsley

just a normal guy kevin
Do you guys take your records out of the non-marked butcher paper wrapper? My local record shop owner told me that you're supposed to leave them on there and never open it or look at what's inside. It sucks that you can't see the album but I buy all my really rare expensive variants from him so I don't want to risk the value being lowered. I'm going to start doing this to ensure I can pay for my kids college one day, or cash in for an Audi with a hottie riding shottie while listening to Maserati.
