MicLima
I had an amusing and enlightening journey last night. Long story short, I did not realize 12" LPs could be 45 RPMs. I had been under the impression that all 12" were 33 1/3 RPMs. Anyone else have any similar vinyl "DOH!" moments to share? Sidney Crosley
And when you slow any record down to 16.5 RPM, it sounds like this: https://soundcloud.com/alvin-thechipmunkson16sp

WAXXX
every few months i get an album and listen to a good chunk of it at 33 1/3 RPM before realizing the album should be played at 45 RPM.
thebilljim
Jane Doe at 33.3 sounds so fucking brutal.
Sad Heart
Try listening to Guilty of Everything at a slower speed. It's pretty amusing, yet if you don't know the album it oddly works.
Tardcore
a friend of mine had this juke box that played 45s and he had a melvins 7" in there but one side (Night Goat) ran at 33.3. Sounded badass sped up to 45.
Halo 2
The first time I started spinning a record on my turntable my cat jumped on top of it and freaked out. Now I never keep the dust cover open

birdwell
playing PUNCH 45's at 33 1/3 sounds a LOT like converge, and it kind of rules Klefki

Bladewillisisdead
I listened to the first Toe album at 33 for months. Then I listened to the mp3s and was like "Wait, what the fuck?" hippielauryn

I listened to the first Toe album at 33 for months. Then I listened to the mp3s and was like "Wait, what the fuck?" Had I not heard the album prior via mp3, I don't think I would have noticed lol. GatorPrideSONNN
My noobery -- I found out yesterday that vinyl's' is not a word. I never knew until it was pointed out to me. I will admit though, I googled it to make sure I wasn't being joked with. I have learned a lot in the last day on these boards. Thanks for that. vinyl addict

dynamitekid
I didn't realize that I could just hang my records up on the wall instead of listening to them. Makes my life MUCH easier and quieter Klefki and nancy_raygun
mrewest
Not me, but I swear I saw someome selling an unplayed test press once. Also, I hate when records aren't marked with A/B sides and/or that they're 33/45.
themeconspiracy
Not me, but I swear I saw someome selling an unplayed test press once. there's not anything necessarily odd about that. labels get multiple tests made and don't usually listen to more than one copy in order to approve it. the rest get passed out/sold without ever being played and then if the new owner spins it or not is up to them. i know i have a bunch of tests from the label i used to do work for that i've never spun since i've got standard copies as well. cambionic
Most electronic albums sound good no matter what speed you play at. I like playing The Pod by Ween at slower/faster speeds. It's already fucked up sounding, and messing with it makes it even more brown!
