xmarcusnapple
$100 for my B&C Separation test press. Definitely worth it.
The Saint
I dropped $450 for my Brand New Collection. I'm not proud of it because I really bought it out of pure nostalgia. And of course I had to have them all on black vinyl and the OG press of YFW. I guess I don't feel that bad because I can always sell them and make my money back no problem. But other than that, I haven't spent more than $40 or $50 which is the way it should be.
darkeyelids
an autographed copy of Rowland S Howard's Pop Crimes LP (of The Birthday Party fame) $500 Cant see myself shelling out so much for a record again, totally worth it considering a beat to hell copy sold earlier this year for $
David Loyd
$100 for Celtic Frost 'monotheist' on clear vinyl. Seems I Will probably pay close to the same for Tom Warriors (Celtic Frost singer) current band, Triptykon's first full release 'Eparistera Daimones' as Ebay is the only place I can seem to find it, and when I do, they seem to go anywhere from $80-100 as well. steventangent
It's funny to see earlier in this thread when people say "i wouldn't pay over $25 for a record" or "people in America are lucky, I pay at least $25 for each record." Anyway, I got Downward Is Heavenward on blue and the Puppets 7" for $80 shipped. Most I ever spent.
Guest
In the end, if you are never paying over $50 for records you need to listen to better tunes.
soundboard
I actually just spent the most I've ever spent: $50 for MxPx - Life In General/white variant. Found it at a used vinyl store in near perfect condition. I've wanted it for a long time and just couldn't pass it up. brianmorgante
jared
$300 for Swans "Love Of Life' box set including "White Light From The Mouth OF Infinity" in near mint condition all around. Will always be worth it to me.
problemchild
Not counting boxsets, 35 for Big D and the Kid's Table - Fluent in Stroll double LP. My all time favorite album and a steal for that price... chils123 and Werner Herzog
moonbeams
holy shit man that's more than my mortgage payment each month Yeah, way more than my most recent rent. I had been planning on purchasing it for a while and got the money from selling off the valuable records of my collection. I figured, by this now while it's at an average of $1500 or regret later if they shoot up to $2000. http://www.popsike.com/Ultra-Rare-Misfits-Earth-AD-Green-Vinyl-AD/270172889366.html

firefoxUSSR
189 - eels electro-shock blues, mint/sealed. Only one pressing on double 10" blue transparent vinyl. Worth every penny. Also resold it for $250 eight months later after doing a HD needledrop of it a few times.

@@ron
i averaged 40 a piece when i bought Dashboard's The Swiss Army Romance and A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar together a few months back. That's the most i've spent. That may change if i ever pull the trigger on a Black Parade.
mrrom92
An acetate with an early version of I Am The Walrus, previously owned by John Lennon. Too ashamed to state the number value. jtcohenour
streetwaves
$85 for a super clean copy of The Velvet Underground & Nico with sticker over torso.
timbrh2001
$150 for a mint copy of Ryan Adams' first band (when he was like 14 or 16 y/o). Blank Label 7" - Mint. I believe around 200 were pressed but who knows how many are actually floating around these days and I've seen these auctioned for over $600 before. I also spent $250 but that was for his Live After Deaf boxset so I guess that wouldn't really count.
avl
$700 for Nirvana "Love Buzz". Perfect mint copy. Unplayed. Sold it 3 years ago for $3800. I was really sad to see it go but then the money arrived in my bank account....

nickxmurphy
Was there no one to call and talk to about it? Any reimbursement whatsoever? Bought it off a dude on Deadformat. He doesn't know what happened either. Apparently USPS couldn't move it from L.A. to Toronto without losing it.
albie007
This thread makes me feel better about my addiction. No more than 35$ for a single lp. The first month or so collecting was the worst for 20 to 35 dollar purchases. I quickly learned to be patient and let the deals come to me. (Also discovered vc) not being a variant collector helps too. I do enjoy colorful surprises though! Bought a few boxsets for 45 to 60$ (jimi hendrix - winterland/janis joplin studio set/kings of leon 4 lp) mainly just wanted kol's first two albums. I couldn't find youth & manhood for less than 50 anywhere at that time.
David Loyd
$100 including shipping for Celtic Frost Monotheist and $80 for Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones. Worth every cent to me.
