Do any of you actually listen to the music you buy?

The kind of music I like, nowadays, I can't buy on wax unless I either buy the album

sounds like you lead a tough life, man.

I'm thrilled that vinyl records are selling so well but I'd be lying if I wasn't just a little insulted at every article I read about it claiming as if vinyl is back, as if it was gone and now it's this new thing that the kids are into. It never went away. It's the highest in 20 years and I look in record stores and I see names like Vampire Weekend and Daft Punk and Sting and I'm thinking what on earth are these people buying. I'd love to know where the sales are coming from. If this is what they are buying now, all these overpriced LPs they would have loved it just 4 years ago when it was just a regular format and the prices were much lower.

i think you're having a hard time coping with the fact that cultural phenomena go out of style and come back into style. vinyl is back in style, dude. since you're so keen on bashing our freedom of speech, maybe take it up with the "liberal media" to ask them why they think vinyl is this "new thing that the kids are into." if you had a mind of your own you would know that that's not correct, and you wouldn't let it bother you so much. so just fucking deal with it.

also, get off your high horse, big guy. all of your "hard-to-find" music is not better or worse than any of the garbage that circulates these days. everyone is entitled to their own tastes.

The root of this thread is about the illuminati and free masons isn't it?

At last an educated and erudite human being who understands the real danger here.

This has been an illuminating and informative read and I think I have learned at least one new insult but on balance I think I will wait for the film, the action has been a bit slow at times and some of the pauses have been long enough such that I've actually had to go and put some of my gramophone leaves on my phonograph on occasion, if I could only switch the thing on all would be fine.

i cannot believe i just spent the first ~2 quarters of football catching up on this utter bullshit.

gotta say- pretty upset that i sold all those copies of devil & god. i just want to go choke myself while i cum all over each one of them as they're so colorfully displayed across a crude wood floor.

Look at you all with your cuss words and insults lol. Take a good look at yourselves. Go look in the mirror I mean really, is that all any of you can do? You're all angry because you all know I'm right. Why do I buy vinyl records? I don't just buy vinyl i buy CDs, i buy them to listen to music I like and I do it in whichever way I think is the best way, that means price, where I can buy it, how badly I want it, lots of reasons. The other guy up the page likes to tell me that vinyl records weren't much good in 2007, at least when I walked into a highstreet music store here I went in and the place was full of 7" singles, 12" singles, imports, white labels, albums. The statistics might show otherwise but the selection ie. what you can buy ws far far better than it is today and if you are a music fan then you would have bought singles. Singles were a cheap way of buying a song you liked but maybe didn't want the album. It's no surprise I walk into those same stores now and the singles section is a tiny little shelf and the rest is overpriced LPs, most of them reiusses. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Bruce Springsteen or Bob Marley or AC/DC and all these other artists that seem to overpopulate record stores but for someone like me who buys music to listen to it at that time, it doesn't do me much good. I'd take 2007, infact right up till the end of 2009 even over 2010-2013 any day of the week. You say I hate the fact that people who like the same music as me keep their music in frames. The kind of music I like, nowadays, I can't buy on wax unless I either buy the album or I look at the bootleggers and see what extra tracks they've stuck on with it and even then the bootleggers can't seem to even get that right these days because any singles they do release they release them months after they've been released to itunes so buy the time I get round to buying it I've already got another bunch of singles I'd like so I don't even buy bootlegs all that often unless it's something i really really want. I daresay the crowd that are buying records now would have loved all the cheap 7" and 12" records. They could have got 4 or 5 for the same price they pay for an album. For them to make a comeback people would need to stop buying vinyl again. But of course that is all nonsense isn't it. And as for you Derek, I'm not any Try Hard or whatever you call it. I made a thread saying what I felt needed to be said, everything I said was true and if you don't like it tough. If i wanted to know your opinion I'd ask you. There is no crime about saying what you think, then again you do live in America, I know you don't have freedom of speech over there anymore. Old Barry from Kenya seen to that. Couldn't even vote an American to be your President could you and now the TSA have their hands down everyones pants in airports and you have all these patsys running around trying to scare people into giving up their guns and all these other fake things going on in the government. But on here no one will know Derek. On here you can have your Freedom of Speech back. On here, online , in this forum your constitution is real again, it's a real thing that means something and I wont take that away from you even though your President took it away from your people in real life. On here you can speak your mind but don't ever.....call me names or try and badmouth me ok. We got that? You're a good kid, you're passionate, I like your passion.

I don't get it... Your profile says you're 27... Why the fuck are you acting like an 11 year old who didn't get the toy he wanted for Christmas?? Grow up and take your head outta your ass, the world is a place full of things your closed mind will never be able to comprehend. Deal with it like an adult you man-baby

Can I do that? I wouldn't dream of doing that. No music fan in their right mind would put their vinyl records on a duvet or any surface like that. But then again it's not about listening to them with you is it? No it's just about collecting so you don't mind leaving them lying on some duvet covered in hairs and dirt do you. Place is rife with Americans, typical big mouth ones too, that's what you lot have more than anything and in the real world you wouldn't say any of that stuff to me because you know i'd bitch slap all of you across the face with the back of my hand. You're better just sticking to your gifs.

Admittedly they look a lot better in my urban outfitters frames on my walls but man what the heck. Are you saying someone gay enough to make a rainbow out of records isn't gay enough to wash their duvets consistently? I practice being a homemaker, not a keyboard warrior. That shit is clean.

Most of this board has no understanding or appreciation of sound quality in vinyl.  Disc color, packaging and limitedness is more important.  And you guys think you are rightously insulting people?  So funny.  I'm actually pretty sure you're all gay.  :)

GUILTY

I AM GUILTY OF THIS

I AM ALL GAY

I've never known a forum where literally every page in every thread is littered with gifs. At least I talk. I don't rely on those things that are probably using tons of bandwith for this site.

I think Eminem's 90+ million records sold in 10 years pretty much shits all over every artist mentioned in this forum. Go and show me one. Pick one out, the place is littered with Pre Order threads, go and pick an artist out because not even the Beatles or Elvis Presley sold that many in 10 years. Go and find me a singer or band that sold that many records within a 10 year period.

You can't do it. So don't even bother. Don't even try.

Math isn't your strongest suit, is it? Same with reading comprehension. And any activity that involves the use of brain cells, for that matter.

Eminem / 1992-present / 100 million

Taylor Swift / 2006-present / 101 million
Rihanna / 2005-present / 150 million

Nickelback, the band famous for one song, yeah I remember them from the year 2000. Internet says 50 million albums worldwide. Not quite there are, not quite the same as the 41 year old rapper from Detroit. You can't find any singer or band that has achieved that sales number in just 10 years and that doesn't include his sales from 1997-2000 or 2011-2013.

So don't sit there and try and badmouth me because I happen to like Eminem when he shits all over every artist in this forum and every artist in your record collection and it'll never be done again. No one will ever do those numbers ever again. It cannot be done. And don't try and ridicule me because my country for many years sold singles in large numbers.
