I'm not sure what "it" refers to, but I'm guessing it means "my tax money". in that case, I think everyone deserves "it" and they each deserve an ~equal share of it (e.g., everyone has access to public schools, libraries, highways, etc.). some people (based on their income, family size, etc.) need a little extra help (e.g., housing, food, insurance, etc.), so we give those people access to additional resources. if you refuse to pay your taxes and you get caught, there's probably a fine or potentially some jail time. i agree that i deserve to keep 60-100% of what i earn. however, keep in mind that those brackets you linked only apply to federal income tax. it doesn't include state, social security, medicare, corporate, property, or sales tax. add those all up and i get less than the 60-100% of my income you think i deserve. you say everyone deserves an equal share of tax dollars collected, but then go on to say that certain people should get more than others. that's not equality. if i refuse to pay my taxes, then i will face both fines and jail time (which ironically costs even more taxpayer money). On 6/28/2016 at 10:16 PM, harryq said: I like taxes, even if I pay more than I get out. I've benefited from ~22 years of public education and worked for publicly-funded places (academia and gov) for the past few years, so now it's time to "pay it forward." after all, it seems like kind of a dick move to go to public schools for free and then bitch about how your property taxes are too high once you've graduated. i didn't go to public schools, so i never benefited from "free" public education. i've never worked for publicly-funded places. all i've done is pay-it-forward ever since i decided to work and earn money. i pay high property taxes. taxation is theft. however, that doesn't mean i'm unwilling to consider fair programs that help the needy and disadvantaged. equality is not possible, fairness is. i don't understand how the left thinks it is wrong to deport people who enter this country illegally, have children, and receive benefits from the tax dollars of american citizens because it would tear them away from their families. yet at the same time, think it is ok to throw working american citizens in jail, fine them, and tear them away from their families if they refuse to pay taxes. this is sick and twisted logic that does not benefit americans. people don't inherently deserve other people's money. although lending a helping hand to those in need should be encouraged, starting first with the actual citizens of the country in which you live. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A lot of the taxes at the state and local level could be supplemented by federal dollars if we could reallocate how disproportionately our federal budget is distributed. Your property taxes are there because there is little else in money streams to pay for local services. I was going to respond to your claim of paying taxes at the rate you said but I knew already your response was going to be what it was

tipyourbartender
She wasn't trading government secrets to other countries. She wasn't sharing classified information with other governments. She wasn't doing what she did with the intent of harming the US. That's how they are justifying letting her go. She did it so she could keep total control of her emails. Possibly there are more sinister reasons but its really just speculation. It's smart if you want to be a private and secretive person. Apparently this is not illegal, even for a high ranking government employee. Sorry, it's not illegal as long as you maintain ignorance the entire time. If the email server is not internal it's not secure, period. Illegal? Not inherently, it depends on what contracts you've signed and what your employer decides to do about the infraction. But I wouldn't want someone so careless in my employ, let alone running a country. vinyl addict, WAXXX and KingTacoMunster
