jhulud
I'll have to wait to get home to download it. Hopefully it will still be available. I've listened to the stream about three times already and gotta say that I am very impressed. I dig the angry fast-paced style of it. RadDonut
So who's going to be the first to make a new thread for the new brand new album?
xfactor675
how fucked up would it be if they put this on the cassette with the demos? and that's it? I'd laugh my ass off
rooks
"The writing on the wall", or "the hand writing on the wall", or "the writing is on the wall" or "Mene Mene", is an idiom implying that a (usually) negative event is easily predictable based on the current situation. Often, the event is seen as hard to avert. A direness similar to an "impending doom" can be implied.

BN cryptically confirmed it. Bye. cemeterytapes

TheWindBlower
If it wasn't for Jesse's voice, I might not believe that this is Brand New. I'm definitely about it though. Pretty cool, pretty cool.

Shinji
It's so funny how people look into Brand New as if they're like Death Grips or Tool. Have they really ever been cryptic? Ever since I've listened to them which was around when Devil and God came out, they just simply release music, put out some represses, and announce tour dates. Nothing out of the ordinary to me. mr. sincere
Anybody know why they want an address when downloading the song? They're going to mail out a physical copy of the mp3 in 10 years. Fowty Dollaz
Fowty Dollaz
Welll...I'll be damned... If you look in the top left picture, towards the bottom you will see a little print with spotlights shining upward. It says:"218114414523/ rip 2018/ 'Know God's Just Work'." I don't know what that last bit is about, but those random numbers spell out B R A N D N E W when you translate them to correspond to their respective numerical position in the alphabet. B=2 R=18 A=1... That's what I meant by a cryptic (literally) confirmation of the band breaking up in 2018 (rip 2018). Not to mention the song Mene actually says "I'll lay this beast to rest [...] there was something I was trying to say, but then I choked on it and it's getting kind of late...etc." That's all I was saying when I was talking about their cryptic nature. I still <3 you Morrisey. U da best.

Not to mention the song Mene actually says "I'll lay this beast to rest [...] there was something I was trying to say, but then I choked on it and it's getting kind of late...etc." This whole impending doom/writing on the wall thing I think is spelling out they're going to break up, which sucks, but Jesse has said he doesn't want to be one of those bands that's doing this when they're 40. Personally I'd like to believe the RIP just means maybe they'll stop playing stuff from the first 2 albums or means they'll be going in a different direction, but who knows. I saw somewhere, someone had a theory that they were going to write this album as if TDAGARIM and Daisy didn't exist, because had those demos not been leaked, they probably wouldn't. This one really does sound immediately post-Deja with some flairs of Daisy in the noisy guitars. All I know is I hope more of the album sounds energetic like this, I need some new gym music badly. kjkenney
the intro guitars sound like they could be the intro to a Murder By Death song. Digging this quite a bit! stokd

I think I read that somewhere too, but in any case if the new album maintains this "Mene" sound I'll be stoked. I'm very happy with it. It has a very Deja feel, and you're right, I detect some Daisy in there as well. stokd
kidamnesiac
New song is very "I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spin Light." Live version was more aggressive. And neither of those things are bad.
cemeterytapes
I thought it was kindof disappointing on a first listen. That said, I'm sure in 3 months when the single is released I'll be all like "WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING THIS SONG IS AMAZING!" It happened once I listened to the actual recording. I TOLD YOU PAST SELF! Fowty Dollaz

Would make sense, put out the new/last album and do a final tour in 2018. In the meantime pump out represses, do expensive shows here and there over the next 2 years, go out with a bang and fat bank accounts.
