ronniegwilliams
well done HBO. I agree, if Vaughn pulls this off, this could be a game changer for his career, hopefully no more idiot 40 year old that doesn't understand a 20 year old society roles for him in the future
KingTacoMunster
I enjoyed Vaughn in delivery man...i think this is going to be awesome, not sure if it will be woody and matthew good but hopefully close.

Rip
New season starts in like... 20 minutes. I've heard some mixed reviews on it so far. The main one being that if you're going into this season expecting it to be anything like the first season, then you need to stop that right now. I'm excited for it nonetheless. batman
pretty solid opener imo. it's not going to have that odd pair dynamic like the last season, but i think the storylines will be compelling enough. strong lynch vibes (anyone else notice the mulholland dr exit sign??) plus that line about what he was going to do to that kid's dad was pretty hilarious. Snaggle Von Swift
Not sure how I felt about it, will have to give it a second watch.
3arl
I like it. It's definitely a different tone and pace to get used to. Not sure how I feel about the new opening credits song though.
batman
Not sure how I feel about the new opening credits song though. That's true. I wish they would've used the song from the teaser. That was fantastic.
dapeebs
Need to start watching this show. I bought the the King in Yellow to see it's tie-in to this. Also, Alexandra Daddario
IanRees
The "religious institute" is about 15 minutes from my house and was my grandmas church so I've spent plenty of Christmas and Easter masses in it as well as weddings and funerals so that was cool. Really beautiful church overlooking the pacific and on a clear day you can see Catalina Island.
ptothedo
Very solid opener, although it was very scatterbrain. Vince Vaughan looks completely out of place.
jhulud
Very solid opener, although it was very scatterbrain. Vince Vaughan looks completely out of place. My thoughts exactly. It was all over the place and I wanted to make sense how it was all going to connect. And then it did.
kgry
Good opener. Not a fan of Colin Farrell but he's going to be good in this. Vince Vaugh, like I expected, doesn't fit the villain part well. Still shaping up to be a good season.
rooks
super mediocre opener. if it didn't already have a reputation from season 1 I wouldn't even bother with it. I'll stick with it a little longer.
BuzzersonKillwell
I thought Vaughn was alright honestly! The first season opened with the occult, in an environment a lot of shows don't show with Wooderson totally selling those absurd monologues. It was intriguing from the get go. Season 2 starts in a city done to death, with double the characters to establish in a plot that feels familiar. It's a tougher row to hoe, but I guess you sort of have to wait until the end to really judge a good mystery. I thought it was pretty good, all things considered. For better or worse, I think we've seen what is at the table this season. I didn't love the Cohen song as the opener, though I like Cohen. rooks
Opening theme was balls, imo. Additionally they really tread the "unlovable lead character that you cant help but love" path last season. If they are trying again, they're going to have a hard time of it. Because motorcycle cop is terrible and I wish he had just crashed his bike so we'd be done with him already. Colin Farrell is a psychopath who should be nowhere near that rapists' child. NAWM SAYING. I don't mind Rachel McAdams' character yet, I just hope they don't keep revisiting her relationship with her sister and father cuz idgaf. Hopefully that was just to build her character as the only sane one in a bunch of psychos type of thing. I really don't know. Whole story was super weak. mappingtheyears
Completely forgot to watch this last night. I'll catch it on HBO Go tonight. After reading some of your guys' comments I'm curious to see what I'll think of it. The first season was so incredibly good, but I've had my doubts about the second season ever since it was announced that Vaughn and Farrell were playing the main characters. Kinda doubt this season will be able to live up to the first, but we'll see.
RadDonut
I went into this knowing it wasn't going to be anything like the first season and I thought the first episode was pretty good. I also thought the opening song was a good choice and that bar performance near the end was a great scene. Anyone know who the artist was who performed it?
