  2. All five Sugar releases (Copper Blue, Beaster, File Under Easy Listening, Besides and the Joke Is Always On Us, Sometimes) along with three solo albums (Bob Mould / Hubcap, The Last Dog And Pony Show and Silver Age) are all being reissued by Demon Records in the UK on clear vinyl except for Silver Age which will be on silver vinyl. Hubcap and TLDAPS haven't been pressed since their original release and copies go for a pretty penny. The rest are ten a penny.

  5. Nah that for sure has to stay sealed. I bought one for myself at a thrift-store a while back not knowing he had that copy anyway, so I still have a playable one. If he kept it sealed that long, it's probably the way he wanted it.

  6. Also this sounds dope af, keep an update of what happens! My dad passed a while back in 2018 and I was going through his old collection not long ago and found a sealed 1971 press Gil Scott-Heron - Pieces of a Man*. Keeping it that way.

  7. Even though these guys sound more funky jazz, this thread needed to be bumped. Snagged that purple version, even though it was 'spensive with shipping. https://sorcerers.bandcamp.com/album/in-search-of-the-lost-city-of-the-monkey-god

  9. First off, I came across this Shabaka and the Ancestors PO and thought it looked interesting. I'm still digesting the music, but, so far, so good. Amzn PO Write up and strange video Here. In other news, I have a neighbor who has a massive collection of records that were her parents'. Rooms and rooms full and they are looking to someday sell. I tried to get them to let me look at them and they said "it's just a mess". Pulled my hair out. Finally they were having another garage sale and I went back and got them to at least let me look through one shelf. Right away I found about 10 Jackie McClean records. Unfortunately, her parents really played the records and most suffered from condition problems, but there were also sealed OJC pressings and the like. There were also NY pressings of Blue Note and Bergenfield deep groove Prestige. There is tremendous potential in this collection and if it were 20 years ago, I would have really been losing my shit trying to get them to let me go through more of them. Apparently, they are letting some random guy they met at the flea market go through them and help them price them. I told them about Discogs and how to look up prices, so they wouldn't get cheated. Hopefully, I will be able to get back in. We did exchange numbers and maybe it will pay off. I was tempted to throw out a nice number for the entire collection, but I just don't think I have the energy anymore to deal with it. My guesstimation is that I would have to rent a moving truck and it would eat up a lot of time. I think if all the titles were in a lot better condition, I'd probably do it. I'd bet there are some sealed super rare jazz and soul buried in there. Maybe I will get to find out!

  14. So yeah... I’m already liking this more than Weather, personally. Don’t want to jump the gun too soon but I think this may be the closest thing we get to an Awake followup, and that absolutely works for me.

  19. Dude. I’m with wisdom on this one. Think you’re more mad than you should be lol. In fact everything they said sounds like everything most of us say here! It’s pretty clear who they are talking about (& for the record, it’s all The Life & Times dude & Mario is pretty much just saying “yeah yeah”. First off, the guy from Life & Times is CLEARLY an “older” guy. It should be zero surprise at all what he says. And their music was definitely an odd choice for Post Fest imo. Also, he’s clearly singling out only SOME of the bands. He compliments Mario for “having vocals” so I think you can remove Circus Trees & Holy Fawn from the venting. I’m sure he was speaking about Ranges, Wander, PFS, I/O, End of the Ocean & Driving Slow Motion. Those are the instrumental bands that can all be lumped into the more “basic post-rock”. While I think End of the Ocean is top tier live, I’ll never consider them “ground-breaking”. And I personally loved Driving Slow Motion but definitely don’t take offense if someone says they are “cliche”. And the 78:00 venting is just about “bands being too serious”. Nothing malicious there at all. I know you’re the resident Ranges & PFS fanboi 😉 but I really think it wasn’t a mud slinging vent sesh here. Just an older dude sounding like EXACTLY how I’d expect & commenting on how cookie cutter those bands sound. And his buddy Mario casually agreeing with his points. I’d hug ya & say “Everything will be ok” if I could haha ❤️

  20. The only way this could be more ridiculous is if all the records were liquid filled with some of Iggy's blood.
