For these past holidays, since we were not able to have a proper in-person holiday party and whatnot...we did have a Zoom/Teams thing happen...out Sup had us give them a list of stuff we'd be into to gift us. I gave him my Amazon wishlist and a bunch of books I'd been meaning to get. One of the books...which is conducive to this thread...is 'Doomed to Fail'...it's essentially a history and evolution of all things sludge, doom, and post-metal. I'm about halfway through it and it's been really good and eye-opening. Getting some great info on bands I didn't know about before and so far made appreciate more some others I did know about. The chapter on Eyehategod was pretty fuckin' great and now I have been on a huge EHG kick. Greatly recommend for anyone on this thread and fans of these heavy genres. Yeah I actually really love this EP, and love their decision to leave this track OFF of it lol. Interesting but really doesn't do it for me, or fit the vibe of the rest of the tracks.

After my first few listens I thought to myself, "Have I grown out of this kind of music?" but then I remembered ETID put out an AOTY contender last year and realize, no, this is just an aggressively bland, milquetoast album with absolutely no memorable or standout moments. It is disappointing, and I was actually looking forward to having some throwback fun with this one.

Ordered a record from Heavy Psych Sounds US shop. When it arrived it was cracked. When i asked them for a replacement, they said i had to pay shipping, and it had to come from their EU shop... so the shipping cost was just as much as the record was worth even though they still had copies listed for sale in their US shop. I paid it and now I haven't bought from them since.

Are they picture discs? If so, definitely camp. Possibly give up Thanksgiving dinner to get that place in line.

This band has been a huge part of my life since I got into them in 2002. One of the bands I've seen the most live. I'm gutted. Time to start spinning all their records.
