cephcarn4
what are some records you decided on not bidding on or picking up never to be seen again? Mine was Modern Life Is Wars s/t misspress on pink swirl - only 4 made - but a few years back i was able to score a rookie lot demo cassette - thats something i have not seen again
PostVillasBlues2K
The Illusion of Safety at a Hot Topic back in 2002. I know they weren't too difficult to find afterwards and then they were eventually repressed in spades, but I don't know. Always kicked myself for picking it up, looking at it and putting it back down.
3arl
I lost an eBay auction for On Letting Go that ended up going for like $26. That one still hurts.
serum7
There was a copy of Coheed's "In Keeping Secrets" that sat in my old local store for a LONG time. I kept putting it off, thinking it'd be there forever. The day before I went in to buy it someone else did. Now let's sit back and wait for the person to crap on this thread because it's only going to be albums that have been released in the last ten years. mclz
Bought Gaslight Anthem Sink or Swim on black vinyl when it just came out, wasn't into it, sold it on eBay for like $10. Still not into it, but shit is worth BANK!
mot
Gave my White vinyl copy of Creeping Death to a friend for his birthday and kept all my other variants. Don't know what it's worth now, but it was up to about $1000 at one point.

jaedong
Passed up on letting go picture disc, and both swirl re presses when they first came out because I wasn't really into Circa. Saw a copy of Blood Mountain on clear on discogs for like $60, didn't buy it thinking it wouldn't go anywhere.

somethingvinyl
Now let's sit back and wait for the person to crap on this thread because it's only going to be albums that have been released in the last ten years. Funny enough, "the one that got away" isn't something that's limited to time, it's a record you regret selling or not buying. If your white whale is a record made in the past ten years, than you're pretty shortsighted, musically speaking. I bought the Brand New - Devil and God new in a store here for $12-14. It was white. Sold it for $12ish on eBay in 2010. Now... That's probably not the worst, but the one that occurs to me at the moment.
andrewlucas
Circa - juturna ($52 on eBay) Thrice - alchemy index (waited too long to preorder) Glassjaw - all good junkies spray painted version ($100, thought it was way too much)
circuit bored records
The ones I always think back to are De loused and Frances the mute, multiple sealed copies at about $25 each, sat around in amoeba for a couple years around '05/ '06. Even though I was into them, it was too much for me to spend on vinyl at the time. I had just started collecting and was used to digging through dollar bins for jazz and classical records and goodwill scavenging. rudeboydh
adamlikesmusic
I decided not to buy Iron Chic's demo 12" because it was $30 from Germany at the time. Figured I'd wait for a US distro to get it. Nope. Now I'd be happy to get it for less than $100.
dethrock
Not that bad, but I missed a copy of The Movielife - 40 Hour Train To Penn for I think $16 on eBay. I had my bid set at $15.50 and forgot about it.
geezfools
I had a couple gaslight records I wish I hadn't let go. I made bank off them then, but never thought they would pull the money they're pulling now. Yeah, I'm greedy
californiaflow
A copy of Deloused for $50 that I turned down last month...
ronniegwilliams
I worked at hot topic for almost six years, and it pains me to think of all the records I passed on, simply because I didn't know much about vinyl and didn't know that pressings were limited. Off the top of my head I remember passing up copies of original Get Up Kids, Hot Water Music, and Alkaline Trio pressings. Not that I'm really a fan, but had I picked up copies of Brand New records then, I could probably make bank on them, not that I support flipping, but I do support paying off credit card bills. jonnystorm777

atticus
Pink Floyd - Pulse box set for $18 in the used section at my local shop. Passed because I was buying a bunch of other records. Came back to get it that Friday when I got paid and it was gone. Haven't seen it sub $200 since then.
