The Mondo Records Thread - You think limited? Will sell fast?

Recommended Posts

They either make one themselves or pay someone to make a script for them. I've never even bothered to take it to that level (there's enough great shit out there that you don't NEED TO HAVE EVERYTHING u want) but I've heard it's not rocket science if you have a basic understanding of what you're doing. There are plenty of websites with computer geeks from India that will charge you $5 an hour to build you one if you're desperate to be a part of that crowd of goons.

Nobody is actually gonna publicly share their bot software or whatever, that would be stupid.

No i wouldnt expect those people to. I have three "mondo" prints and i still need to frame two of them. Its super expensive to buy them and display them like that so i dont bother to buy stuff inwont take that step for. Plus wall space is a premium. My wife doesnt every wall covered in that stuff. This stput was going to be a birthday gift for a very good friend but what can you do. He would kick my ass if i spent after market prices on it for him.

It is quite surprising mondo hasnt put in protection to stop bots like other sites have. If discogs can have one for checking prices on past sold items which really doesnt need that mondo can do one for an area that actually needs it.

Bullshit about bots.

I checked out my Batman poster and there were still about 140 left for each after I checked my mail and this forum.

Could have easily grabbed Goonies also.

I have never missed anything I wanted that sold out in minutes.

F5 is your biggest friend at Mondo drops.

USE IT!

I'm drunk

I agree with the F5 but I call bullshit on easily grabbing a Stout. I mean, there's such a nerd boner for him that the flipapalooza makes catching the refresh on a cart drop rough without a mega fast connection.

Talk about a bubble that's going to burst.

I can see those who like things simply because they're worth more money than they paid for it kinda leaving the hobby these days.

I've met some good peeps in the hobby through Aaron Horkey and Jay Ryan's artwork. Those 2 artists kinda have a niche community of diehard collectors that I've grown to enjoy being a part of. Many of em don't care about the aftermarket value and just truly enjoy what these guys put out.
